The mechanics of the veteran box is in need of some modification. Personally, I heavily disagree with how we have no choice of what item or squad we could earn despite the already scarce odds of being able to unlock a vehicle or firearm.
The way to remedy this should be the addition of an input tab that comes with the Veteran Box. It just asks you what squad or gun you want and you can personally select what you want. Of Course, this does not mean the odds are changed. It’s still a 1% chance to get a squad, a 2% chance to get a vehicle and a 3% chance for a gun or melee weapon but in this case, you at least know what you’re in for rather than the current method which gives you a fraction of a fraction’s chance to unlock.
It’s hardly harmful to the game just to add some additional certainty to a box that is priced at 5k silver each. There’s really no need to make even the most miniscule of odds even more miniscule. Silver is a free currency so it’s not like it’s driving up odds as a means to earn additional revenue from their customer base.
As indicated here in the example, the input tab would allow a player to select ONE specific item from the listed category and by inputting this in, should you be lucky enough to land on said category, in this case, a vehicle, then it automatically nets you the item you chose rather than including the other items in the mix. You should be allowed to do this with Squads, Vehicles, Weapons and Unique soldiers since they are almost always the main priority of the buyer.
yea im more than happy to pay extra silver to get what i want from it, currently from both boxes ive spent over 5.5m in silver and im still missing a squad
Well, I specified in my post that this is an optional input, if you’d rather roll the odds for multiple different items then all the power to ya. But if someone wants just one item or squad then be done with it, this is a good alternative.
Dude, in other F2P games, the percentages are in their 0.something range. In thjat respect, Enlisted is pretty generous. Don’t get me wrong though, I don’t want to see appearance orders or stuff at all either, but it’s a gamble. That’s the nature of it.
before the loot boxes i was happy to pay 100k of silver per a box.
with how they have turned out i would be horrified having spent that for the return.
i currently despite having spent so much would still be happy to pay 100k~ to get what i want from it.
Having everything researched the only use i have for boosters currently is to try boost the silver amount in a match to spend that silver on the loot boxes to get what im after, which is a complete and utter stupid circle
not to mention this crap, they say they are going to rework the customization to make it better to not have to re-buy the same outfits over and over, so why spend now when i can wait and be done?
I feel ive spent enough silver to have claimed everything, TWICE!
Hardly a 100% chance when it’s still at the same 1-3% as it was before. It just gives us a fighting chance. No need to double down on the uncertainty by making it a percentage of a percentage.
1.) The odds are completely fucked, if you are a veteran. At the moment i only have a 3% chance of getting weapons and the rest is basically junk. It’s pretty much the opposite of a veterans box at this point. The odds for weapons should increase if you have gotten all possible rewards of other categories to keep the value of the box fair.
2.) Useless shit as rewards. Soldier call sign orders and fucking engineer hammers are just a big lazy fuck you.
There’s only a 1% chance of rolling a win for a squad, then you get a random squad—utterly ridiculous: You should be able to choose which squad you want. I won a squad on my second roll (luckily), then received a useless fighter squad. I don’t even fly in this game, so it’s completely useless to me.
Best thing to do is limit your gambling to 10 or 15% of your total silver. Have some fun with it, but don’t go broke. Best time to gamble is when you are leveling a new soldier or unit since you are very likely to win a 50% (or more) XP ribbon booster.
Or, free-to-play games are too stingy with their loot boxes and Enlisted is grooming you to believe that they are generous—when they’re not, statistically speaking.
Also, when someone quotes how “other people” do things, my response is, " So what." I don’t care how other people do things. Other people typically do things at a sub-standard level, so I’m not interested in following that trend. I’m more interested in looking for real solutions to real problems—and the problem here is you’re actually rolling the dice twice (not once) if you’re trying to win a squad, weapon, etc. So the chances of getting the squad you actually want is much higher than 1%. The 1% is just an illusion.
I have been getting only bonus, callsigns, appareance and silver, in 200K i have spent, didn’t get a single weapon, i have all the squads and event vehicles, but there are at least 20 weapons that i didn’t get the chance to get and i am not able to get them on a 200k spending spree? I mean, it’s ok that you implement this veteran boxes, but by the look of the whole operation and how it’s paying, i’m out forever of this, not even gambling, but a total fraud.
No, 1% is the hit rate for a single roll. There is no illusion, it’s just what it is. It’s a gamble. That’s the very essence of a loot box, and why they’re banned in certain countries.
And just for the record, nobody is forcing anyone to participate. Whoever gambles their silver on one should absolutely know the odd of winning something, which is exactly what the devs have done. The odds are written there in plain sight.
