Variable Appearance for Unique Squads

We have several ‘unique’ squads in the game which look very much out of place in their non-native habitats, e.g. the Moroccans look really weird in Normandy and the German bush boys look strange in Stalingrad, defeating the purpose of camouflage and making them even more visible than soldiers with standard uniforms.

Here are some suggestions on how to change their looks while still keeping them unique on different fronts:

1. 277th Infantry Division (aka Bush Boys, Germany)

Face mask for Tunisia:

Face mask for Moscow/Rzhev/Ardennes:

Face mask for Seelow (Berlin potentially too):

2. French Resistance squad “Secret Army” (aka Event Guerillas, Allies)

Free French forces for Tunisia:

French Indochina forces for Pacific:

3. Moroccan Auxiliaries (aka Bathrobe Boys, Allies)

For Normandy, Ardennes: Senegalese Tirailleurs (keeping the French voicelines but changing the looks)

4. Squad with Liu rifle (aka wtf why are they even added, Allies)

You can’t really justify them being anywhere besides the Pacific but:

For Tunisia: Indian squad

For Normandy, Ardennes: French 1944-45 forces (give them the French voiceover)

5. Volkssturm Squad (aka why we wearing suits in Moscow?)

For Moscow/Stalingrad/Rzhev: Légion des Volontaires (give them the French voiceover) or Blau Division (if we ever get Spanish voiceorver)

For Tunisia: Free Arabian Legion (give them the French voiceover)

5. German Premium/tech tree Guerillas Squad (aka why tf am I wearing a fur hat in Tunisia?)

For Ardennes: Operation Greif Squad (aka we dress up as Americans and drive around saying “Okay”)
Give them American uniforms

For Tunisia: Unternehmen Dora Commandos Squad

For Moscow/Stalingrad/Rzhev: Gebrigsjager Squad (alpine troops)

6. Soviet Premium/tech tree Guerillas Squad (aka Berliners really fall for our looks?)

For Berlin: make them Soviet WW2 Spetsnaz/Saboteurs/Assault Engineering Brigades

PS
I know nothing from this will be done because DF care more about adding another BR5 prototype from 1947, but researching WW2 was again really interesting.

100% pandering to chinese players. There’s absolutely no need for chinese squad in the Allies. Maybe some in Japan but never in Allies

Make them immune to being placed on any map except Burma.

Soldiers who escaped from enemy captivity. In dirty, torn uniforms with elements of enemy uniforms and bandaged wounds. It is possible to add elements of tankers’ and pilots’ equipment and civilian clothes. Something similar can be done with Volkssturm units outside their “natural habitat”.

It seems to me that this is the only logical explanation for the “guerrilla war” at the gates of the enemy capital.

i think it’s an interesting concept and would make those squads uniques.

perhaps, as “ground pilots or tankers” pressed into service.

which did happened as they didn’t always had access to vehicles.

Reminds me of the famous story of Mikhail Devyataev who escaped a concentration camp in a hijacked He 111 bomber

@MajorMcDonalds @JestersTM we accumulated 30 likes here already

Which is 3 times more than the New record: 895! likes or 2 times more than the Operation “Leadstorm” official topics.

Can it please be brought to the devs’ attention that many players prioritize and want this (WW2)?

Thanks

I would also add paramarines to this list. They should mimic regular US paratroopers in Ardennes/Normandy/Africa

I wonder if this cosmetic item was for some reason unavailable, what other options could the MP-40 squad have for Seelow/Berlin?

well, the germans had access to:

splintertarns camouflages, iconc and mostly associated with paratroopers even though it was the army who used it the most.

sumpftarn camouflages, which it’s a yellow/tan version of the splintertarn ( currently present on the mg45 squad and some of the actual paratroopers in enlisted get to use them in the customization. ( except the green and yellow one. that is fictional )

then there are

planetree summer forest pattern ( which are only present currently in the pant section )
planetree autumn same pattern to the one above ( but with brown and orange colors instead. only present in the editor )

alternatively,

the Rauchtarnmuster which it’s identical to the plane tree versions except slighlty more blurred and i believe it is the one in the photo above.

and lastly, pea dot camouflages. but those are already given to the new premium squad apparently.

EDIT:
i forgot about the Palmenmuster. those though, instead of being bloats, those were drawn as foliage patterns.
