Allow players in game to access player info in the Tab menu, with the potential to see there level and the like. This feature has the potential to create a more engaged community by offering users an easier way to friend there allies or foes.
This feature, to clarify is meant for use in battle to clarify any confusion with the wording ‘in game’.
This will only encourage all angry stat searcher kids to toxicly launch all flame wars in the middle of a battle to justify their “virtual argument” with their better soldiers. And what would be the real goal of seeing another player’s stats?
So you can friend them easily?
Many I just want to friend the dude that was good or potentially talk to him later so I can get into some more interesting battles.
I like competent players that understand objectives with actions reflecting the use of that knowledge and want to group up in some fashion.
I respectfully disagree. If people are going to fight over stats they can easily compare their stats in the lobby for the game or their personal stats. The chat is barely utilized as is and I doubt people are going to sacrafice lives and potential XP by arguing over their account stats in a match.
On another note, If you know their level you know how experienced they likely are and what tier equipment they are able to use in the campaign and for newer players, it would offer some sort of explaination as to why certain players are likely scoring so high or killing them as often. They will have something they can see to not jump to “it’s a hacker” and report the person, which wastes the dev’s time because they are likely looking at the reports.
Another thing that COULD be a positive, is that people could have a realistic idea of the average skill level/score players get and have something to measure themselves against so they know where they may want to improve.
This is nothing new. As long as there is a chance to see another player’s stats in the game, it will always be someone’s argument to humiliate a person. This is exactly what happens in all competitive games.
How do you know if it’s legit stats, or if a person just has a lot of money and bought everything in 10 minutes with gold? Perhaps the only indicator that can be displayed is how many hours a person has spent in the game.
This is not always the right indicator to judge a player’s overall skill. Don’t forget that there are a lot of players that come from other similar games, there is some adaptation time and so on. Looking at plain stats and deciding whether a good or bad player is very primitive. Maybe a person does not collect the best K / D but makes logical and rational decisions in the game, knows how to use engineers, and so on.
When did Enlisted turn into an ESports game? Did I miss something? I could give someone crap in game for loosing 20 squads and having 2 kills. Should the devs hide the in game stats? There isn’t even a lobby outside of the game for people to talk in when they would actually have time to worry about digging through someone’s profile stats. I am sorry, but I fail to see the issue. This game does not have a toxic community from what I have seen and there is no good reason given so far why something as simple as hours played or campaign level could not be readily available for people to see.
I mean… their performance in game would be a likely indicator of how legit the stats are. Even if you paid for max level in a campaign, you will still do poorly if you don’t understand the game or how to use the squad types.
I can’t tell if you are agreeing with me or disagreeing with me. You are kind of making my point. I am not talking about judging skill based on KDR alone. Your profile keeps track of many more things. KDR in a team-based and objective-based shooter is poor to go off of alone. That much we can agree on, which is why I want to be able to see other information.
