That’s what I was saying since day one of its announcement. But I guess it’s still better than nothing. Deserters shouldn’t be rewarded for exploiting the system.
What we need is to to prevent systematic deserters to enter next match once they deserted 2+ matches in short period of time.

Good idea, I think the devs didnt do enough stupid decisions in this year.
Preventing people from playing but still not fixing the main reason for desertion is next genius move…

The main reason for desertion is because it is beneficial, genius. 
So the obvious solution is to prevent it from being beneficial.
But I guess such concept is way too complicated for you.
The main reason are shitty maps and modes.
But I guess, playing games for fun and such is beneficial. The horror.
Nah, I think you refuse to accept the fact you are fighting symptones and fail to deliver evidences and denounce evidences which were delivered regarding the causes because they do not fit in your narrative.

Says only deserters who are ruining the game. I have no clue why should game be tailored to such people.
Literally majority of maps are incredibly good in this game.

That is just your opinion, the majority thinks otherwise. Deal with it. Deserters do not ruin the game, circumstances( marketing) do. if y don’t move for 20 sec y get kicked without a penalty…

I highly doubt the loud group of crying deserters are “the majority”.
Otherwise penalties for desertions would never be implemented in the first place.

Everyone does.
But I don’t remember the last time when I was systematically deserting just to cripple the MM for my own benefits.
And that’s what we need to fight. (And we are doing it just well, the infinite cries of systematic deserters are proof of that).

You still deserted for your own benefits, and if you do it in a notable fashion then you are doing it “systematically”, whatever that means anyways.
Dunno, if you need to be forced to not desert, this goes beyond childish “but mom, the other kids are deserting too”.

Everyone needs to quit match from time to time, mostly because of irl reasons and technical issues.

Yeah And imagine not being able to play because your connection sucks due to server locations or “IRL

And technically, you could easily exploit this as excuse and just turn off your wifi router everytime and not sure how the game determines IRL reason but I guess it has something to do with the bad bingo words.

So far, it feels like it means that they leave due to “own benefits” with them being “own benefits”, which can make sense I guess.
I guess I’ll have to explain again.
Systematic desertion means that you simply desert till MM throws you into a match that fits your requirements (which can realistically be anything).
People bypass MM for the sake of cherry picking matches they like for whatever reason. It’s purely intentional and systematic bypassing of the single most important system in the game, matchmaking.
So yes, such people deserve to be punished.
And no, the fact that MM won’t let you pick your dream match in 100% cases is not really the game’s fault.
So yes, systematic desertion is the source of the problem.
Those pseudo arguments like “meet our unrealistic demands first, then maybe we’ll stop deserting” are utterly ridiculous and disingenuous by their very nature.
These people just don’t want to lose their comfort - which is paid for by others, not themselves.
If you are unable to deal with the fact you’re going to be punished for trying to bypass the system you don’t respect.
It’s not really my problem. Go play some server based game without MMs instead.

Apparently it is because your entire point of punishment is to punish people. After all, they dont play how you want and ask for stuff other games have since the 2000s. And ff they dare to demand basic map vote options or ban options, they should just go back to Mexico.
Agree, we should stop asking to improve the game.
Let’s apply this philosophy to the entire game. If people want a working AI, they should play Easy Red 2. If people want non-bugged FW, they should play War Thunder.
And dont ask why new players have such a high attrition rate. Probably the immigrants, errr, deserters or something.
(Though we could also say that if you want better desertetion penalites, go play a different game)
