the type 100 MG is kind of silly, would prefer to have something more resonable…
at the very least a type 92 for tier IV;

Type 92 is basically a Lewis gun.
The soviet premium Lewis gun(47 round) is on BR3.
There is also a 97 round version, but it will need to be BR5.
could’ve sworn it had a much higher rate of fire compared to the original lewis gun…

thought they were copying something along the lines of the VGO… because the type 92 was originally used in aircraft’s defensive guns
Type 96 is basically better in every way except RoF, the extra damage doesn’t matter since both are 2 shot kills against vitality
Type 99 is better suited for close range but has severe downsides compared to the Type 96.
Plus: The Type 96 has reduced sight shake while moving, while the Type 99 doesn’t, so moving just slightly blocks your vision

I’ve made the mistake of not testing the type 99 before equipping all my squads with it. I just saw the stats and assumed it was a better version of the type 96. Better damage, better rate of fire, better recoil. On paper, it’s just plainly a better gun. It wasn’t until I joined a game that I realized how much it sucked in comparion to the type 96. The recoil is atrocious. The type 96 is good at all ranges, even long ranges (just have to hope the spread doesnt fuck you up). With the type 99 hitting the large side of the barn 5m away would be considered lucky. Don’t get it.
Let this be a cauitonary tale. Always test your guns and never trust the ingame specs before buying them in bulk (I bought like 10 type 99s and now they just sit there in my inventory)

I actually bought one a long time ago, but it was nothing more than a BAR.
It was easy to use, but I didn’t buy any more because I started to feel like I was playing in the US Army even though I was a Japanese soldier. 
I want the Japanese Army LMGs to have weird clip-feeding ammo or an obtrusive magazine rising up in front of me that obstructs my view… 
Wrong the only lmg Japanese player should use is the the spoon lmg

But rememberu! USA sufferu, because Japan has one potent firearmuru at the very end of the tech treeru! It must mean Japan is OP! Thus using a “weak” lmg is more fair playru to them!

Until their telescopic sights are added, neither. Just run Type Hei autos and assault squads.
Edit: I’ll make an exception. Use the type 96 as a specialist in other squads, but don’t use the MG squads. They are a waste of space compared to assault squads and engineer squads.

Type 96 all the way, it is with the BAR A2 one of the best LMG at BR III.
Unlike assaulters they can take radio operator+AT gunner+engineer at the same time. Yes, the Japanese have pretty good SMG but MG squads are far from snipers in terms of waste of slot.

Type 96 LMG all the way for me personally. That thing is a truly underappreciated weapon. It is way better than the BAR A2 in certain aspects.
