a bit earlier to say. maybe only in this version.
not necessarely, you can recycle weapons. of course it’s dumb bringing two different rifles at once, or shotgun and smg. what i meant, is that the second weapon slot should be removed, and replaced with a weapon class slots. which somewhat, wars the same way it currently does, but remove the ability to give snipers, troopers, flametroopers and funkers units to actually use more weapons that they should.
again, what we see it’s not final product. we can’t be sure. and i don’t think normandy maps aside from the little town are " small or medium size "
not exactly super soldiers.
but actually equipped soldiers that has drawbacks.
such as much less stamina for running, slower animation in switching weapons. things that we arealdy have seen before and definitly already in act for certain classes.
well, you can use them, but you are just going to let your team down when a tank appear, and when tanks come are more than just a single wipe squad.
this is why there are not " short " or " long " range squads. all are somewhat balance to cover multiple aspects which it’s why we wanted to play this game in the first place, variety, and not limitations.
i do understand that limitations are necessary for balance the game in each aspect. but for now, i don’t see why limit rifles in terms of firepowers if can be balanced out with current weight system. like, it’s already a thing.
mh, let me think.
seeying the fact that we are actually brining more aspect that you did not covered, as i don’t think we are hijacking the thread.
i’m more than sure that those should be brought on discussion, rather than pms. ( sorry for the game-of-words )
differents opinions for a resolucted solution didn’t hurt anyone.
and notification system should be the least of your worries.
wouldn’t you agree?
Does panzerfaust work like that? If it does than this sucks and need to be changed.
I haven’t played normandy tbh.
Uh no. You need 21 more rifles that are fully upgraded. No more, no less (unless you got engineers/radiomen, I suppose)
But why do you need a bolt action over a pistol on anything? AT infantry is ANTI TANK, not ANTI INFANTRY. as such, they should be weaker against infantry. Same for mortar, they are FIRE SUPPORT, not DIRECT COMBAT. As such, they should be weaker in direct combat. I don’t see people jumping out of their plane to go beserk on the ground either. They play their intended role, inside the pilot seat of their plane. Same for tankers. Unless their tank gets disabled, there is no reason to use the weapons the tankers have personally.
These are not strong enough drawbacks to balance the fact that you can literally just engage at any range with your soldier thanks to this.
All soldiers are slow, but can be made fast by simply having the stamina perks. There literally is no downside to having more weapons that cant be entirely nullified through perks.
Well that’s up to you. Again, just use the regularly armed soldiers in the squad.
You can have all that variety without having to resort to giving every soldier the ability to handle everything. At that point, why even have squadmates that cover your back and cover your weaknesses? Why have teammates that can cover your weaknesses? What is the fun if you can literally do everything with every squad?
Why? it fires essentially a HEAT round, which functions perfectly fine as HE IRL.
you know how rpgs works like. right?
Yes, it’s not HE.
HEAT roughly equals HE.
it is still HIGH EXPLOSIVE Anti Tank.
Sure the blast is projected fowards in a stream of molten copper, but I would NOT want to sit next to a tank when it gets hit by a HEAT round as there still is PLENTY of shrapnel.
Not realy. HE is ment to explode everywhere and HEAT is ment to explode in certain direction.
Panzerfausi is 3rd picture.
Sooo you saying you are perfectly fine standing next to a tank when it gets hit by HEAT?
No. It still shrapnels a ton.
No, but it isn’t as effective as HE. I think current “HE” shells in tanks are somethink that I can accept as HEAT in terms of AOE.
I never said it was as effective as an equal calibre HE shell. But a 100mm HEAT round will outperform a 45mm HE round in shrapnel.
Yes, but panzerfaust / bazooka / panzerschreck killing whole squad is stupid in my opinion.
Anyway it’s not the topic of the post. Continue your argument.
i hardly think you will bring 3 squads made of troopers. unless you are just there to meme around, or realling looving bolt action rifles. although, it’s still a functional solution.
because a mosin is much more realiable over a revolver. don’t you think?.
you know what’s elasticity of demand during war… yes?
panzergrenadiers are quite the definition, they fight panzers, they kill infantry, they had mechanized units, yada yada yada, the point is, most of their equipment was with anti tank stuff, and rifles.
it’s kinda like using a stuka with just bomb. you can, but you also need machinegunes as you have them and you Need them.
for the same reason above, they cover multiple roles. which it’s in the skills of the player. not limited by equipment.
yes they pretty much are? if you run like a turtle, you get shot quicker, but, you can return fire. and swapping too slow the weapon might be your death. so again, not to sounds bitchy about it. but i do not think like you do.
do you expect the ai to do the job for you?.
the fun of this game it’s enjoying the guns, the graphic, fighting for rewards, and settings.
it’s a PVPVE experience. not a PVP at full front ( which can be… and we saw how it worked out )
( going to eat my lunch. i’ll come back later )
but pint point back and forth i’m not sure it’s the solution, as i said, second weapon slot should be replaced by class functionality such as hammer, at rifles/bazookas and such for each class. so we avoid the problem of those soldiers with multiple weapons. but the AT and flametrooper should stay as they are.
in my honest opinion.
long reload, hard to aim, very limited ammo.
It’s fine imo, as they do have to be somewhat clustered toghetter.
coughs
Rifles on assaulters in assaulter squad
Rifles on assaulters in premium squad
Rifles on gunners in gunner squad
I can go full meta and still need rifles.
But you should not be reliable in anti-infantry when using an anti-tank soldier.
But instead of a single soldier doing both (unless anti-tank grenades / H3 magnetic mine), they mix soldiers that do anti-infantry with soldiers that do anti-tank, as should be the case in the game.
No super soldiers that can do every task.
But the MGs are not nearly as reliable as the cannons on the Bf109, don’t you agree? Copying your revolver response and logic here.
Such as the assaulters having a sniper for long range engagements in their squad.
However, as they are allowed to carry rifles themselves, why waste time or energy swapping to the soldier that is INTENDED to get the long range kills if you can just shoot the guy with your bolt action?
But everyone runs like a turtle without the perks, and with the perks everyone is fast.
YOU CAN SWAP SOLDIERS WITHOUT DYING, if you havent noticed. You can take up the roles of all the soldiers in your squad, so there is no need for a single soldier to be able to do everything the squad can. In real war each soldier in the squad would bring something to the table to help the others. One guy with SMG, one guy with sniper. One guy with mortar, one guy with mortar ammo. List goes on.
And in my honest opinion, each soldier should be used in their niche, so you have to rely on squadmates or teammates to fill the roles you miss because you chose not to select certain squads before battle.
1-2m radious is enough in my opinion.
exept, it is not truee. let’s say, we make our squad with max of 4 roles per squad ( let’s say 2 assaulters, and 2 machine gunners/flamethrowers )
per each squad. normally flamethrowers along side machineguns don’t need upgrades unlike the normal rifles. so you have less grind to do.
and as i said, each time you unlock newer squads, you can recycle rifles. down to 4, and being able to grind with no issues.
not a value point as we are not talking about upgrades.
yes? a soldier that has been trained for anti tank purpouse it’s still a soldier. he just got trained for using different tactics and trained to use certain weapon. that doesn’t delete the fact that they are still soldiers needed on the battlefield. not some left unsupervised child that needs others help to do his tasks.
exept, they don’t do all the task, just some additional task to counter other toys.
this is not some Company of hereos where you see fucking panzergrenadiers shooting at the infantry with rocket launcher because they forgot their mp44s on their back. it’s just stupid, and not accurate. if possible, should be avoided too.
that is correct. this is why you don’t have bf 109 cannons on the stuka, but normal mg. and in this case for the infantry it’s the same comparison, it would slow the mobility and interaction to still being capable of doing his task.
because you still need them to progress?
well, problem solved i believe. i don’t know about you, but i haven’t encountered perks that change speed unless the crouch prone thingy. which can be easly blacklisted for a certain type of soldiers ( like happened with tankers ).
you can, but you don’t have to.
a team is strong togheter, but the team it’s made by actual individuals. and those individuals matters the most on the squad. if not, it would just be a squad of ducks with rifles.
I still say draw the line between disposable and reloadable AT weapons.
Disposable AT weapons like the panzerfaust make sense to use alongside a rifle because they can’t be reloaded and are instead intended to be dropped after being fired.
But an antimaterial rifle, bazooka, or panzerschrek should replace the rifle as the primary weapon, as they would be too cumbersome between the weapon and ammo to drag along a rifle on top of it.
Antimaterial rifles could use a bit more ammo, but are otherwise fine when you’re classifying people as a material. Pistols can help a lot for more reactive close-quarters combat.
That is currently not the case, so this is entirely irrelevant
We either have 4 assaulters/gunners and 3 specialists (moscow)
Or 1 specialist, maybe 1 engineer, and 2 riflemen (normandy)
Maybe with the flamethrowers, but what about the SMGs? the rifles themselves? the LMGs?
Only when you unlock that new squad
but guess what’s the limit of squad soldier count is? 7. At the end of all your grinding you will need 3x7 soldiers fully equipped, which includes these rifles.
I really dont understand your logic here.
He needs help to do stuff that is NOT his task, aka killing infantry. He is trained to kill tanks so in real life he wouldn’t just be like “wooptie doo I guess I am a sniper now”
No, you want your anti-tank role infantrist to also furfil the main rifleman / anti-infantry role, instead of leaving that role to the actual riflemen.
Except 1: they wouldnt realisitcally carry that MP44 to begin with, as this suggestion suggests, we want those secondary weapons removed. And 2: shooting infantry with anti-tank weapons did happen.
The same comparison of having a weaker pistol compared to the rifles, yes.
To your “mobility” argument:
Stuka is ALSO slower than the Bf109, so to this logic AT infantry should be BOTH slower and lesser armed than normal infantry.
Idk what point you’re trying to make here
sprint speed
more stamina (more stamina = sprint longer = more speed)
faster stamina recharge (faster recharge = more sprinting = more speed)
Which should be emphasized in a WW2 shooter, instead of avoided in favor of lame generic first person shooter mechanics that allow one guy to do it all.
On top of being much lighter. These could be slotted into the sidearm slot alongside the hammer and radio.
Panzerfaust yeah, radio… The American ones weighed 40lbs/17kg, German ones were even heavier. Old batteries are extremely heavy, it’s only in the past 10 years when they’ve become truly lightweight. Just because I remember there were still some cinderblock batteries around when I went through basic training.
I would hate to carry one even on its own.
