Well sort of, I mean it’s quite bold of the other guy to say the british did the most fighting when they nearly got destroyed at Dunkirk and even then they waited years and years for D-Day to come and when it did America took main charge. Russia fought the most but not that ferociously because the partisan forces like italian french greek polish etc. fought harder because the Nazis were on their land. Exceptions in Stalingrad and Moscow

Yes however that’s what Im saying, the partisans were fighting alongside USSR pushing them back. But it takes a different amount of ferociousness to fight if the Nazis are controlling your land and killing people. Stalingrad everyone fought because they knew if they tried they could beat the shit out of the stupid Nazis. The Partisans in occupied countries knew their sole actions wouldn’t change anything, it would lead to mass reprisals against their families, but it was a glimpse of hope. A man could walk in Stalingrad kill 100 Germans and live. If you did that in occupied areas you would be tortured in the worst ways imaginable, your family would be lynched and your village sacked. That takes more bravery. I agree that where the Belarus and Ukraine partisans they fought with lots of courage, sorry for not mentioning that, but the Americans and British didn’t fight with that much courage because it wasn’t their land on the line, their villages and families. That is my point, not that Polish or Greek or French didn’t fight harder than Russian Partisans. My point is that partisans fight harder than conscripted troops
In the Soviet army, conscripts fought as well as partisans, all had one goal,to pull out the teeth of the German snake at any cost.Yes France, Yugoslavia, Poland, etc. they also had partisans,but of all these countries, Yugoslavia had the most partisans.
As I know,the Germans did not commit genocide against the French, the Danes, or the Norwegians.But they carried out the genocide of the Slavs,Jews, etc.I may be wrong,I don’t know much about the genocide.
The elite troops of the USSR, the NKVD border guards, fought the hardest, they were in the deep rear, continued to defend themselves.Sometimes they even counterattacked,but the Germans outnumbered them

Yes they occupied lots of Russian land but even if russia had lost all that land the nation Russia would still exist. It wasn’t a matter about land for the partisans. And to pull the teeth out well they were trying to stop the German’s teeth. For partisan the teeth were already in. If you got bitten from a snake would you act more violently and more hard before it bit you or while it is biting you?
Germans did commit genocide against French and they carried genocide to all slavic races they carried genocide to Greece and obviously africa since they viewed black people as subhuman.
Just a bit of perspective - on June 22 1941 the Soviet army was about 5.5 million men strong, about 2.5 million of them deployed facing the rest of Europe.
In 1941 it lost about 5 million men (dead, wounded, captured) and by December 1941 it had 4.2 million facing the Axis, and by July 42 they had about 5.6 million facing the axis.
That is a scale of loss and mobilization that is mind boggling.
By the end of the war the USA and USSR had similar sized militaries - about 16 million total each of which about 6 million in the army - but the Soviets did it with a smaller population in the unoccupied territories and massive civilian casualties in the occupied territories.
but neither “side” of the allies could do this alone - the Soviets tied up most of the axis forces, but a great deal of their ability to do this was due to lend lease - specifically trucks, boots and spam (and also railway stock) - the Red army marched, drove and ate lend lease. The weapons were useful in the early years - but pretty much just a nice extra on top of the all important logistics!
bickering about who “won” WW2 is pathetic - the allies won WW2 as an alliance - take out any of UK, USA and USSR and at he very best WW2 drags on for 3-5 more years and millions of extra casualties and who knows who wins in the end!
Soviet Russia, due to internal problems, could not immediately drive the Germans away.The Germans attacked in time,if they had attacked a year later, they would not have been able to reach Moscow.

USSR as an organised force did the most damage and stuff but they were fighting for Stalin who was an asshole. It is different if you are slavic or french or african or greek or german or italian partisan you fought for your family survival and village. So you will fight harder to protect you family than if you protecting a head of state who you don’t know. That’s why Germans were like oh no after the war because their entire ideology was based around hitler.
You are right all Im saying is that partisans who fight for their own family and villages freedom will fight harder than to make any head of state happy like in an organised army
Stalin wasn’t an asshole.He was loved by the people,he was the most intelligent ruler of his time and the most educated.
He wasn’t perfect,he made some mistakes,but he’s the best ruler of Russia in a thousand years.
