During World War II, spaced armor such as the German Schürzen was developed to protect against kinetic projectiles like anti-tank rifles, but was largely ineffective against the high-velocity jet of shaped charge (HEAT) munitions, such as Bazookas and Panzerfausts. In fact, for HEAT rounds, the air gap could even be detrimental by providing a pre-detonation point, allowing the jet to form and spread further before reaching the main armor. Therefore, early spaced armor was not particularly effective at countering shaped charges, as confirmed by wartime reports and testing.
Why Spaced Armor Wasn’t Effective Against Shaped Charges
For shaped charges, this air gap could cause the round to detonate prematurely, allowing the jet to form and expand more fully before impacting the primary armor, potentially increasing its penetration and overall effectiveness.
Reports from the time indicate that while the German Schürzen (skirt-like spaced armor) were effective against anti-tank rifles, they had little effect on shaped charge projectiles and might have made them more powerful.
the trouble is the shield
you cant go from too much armor
to not enough armor
if they removed the shield and gave the entire face 180mm armor it would work
or just treated the face as if it did not exist and gave the entire turret equal treatment to the tiger 2 h
and no having half the tank turret with almost no armor is not a weak spot its a weak country
and the reload time is absurd its like comparing the johnson 1941 and the g41
so make the turret like the king tiger armor arrangement and give it the same reload
on pc you can test it in a special mode shooting with any gun at any angle on console you have to go to the shooting range line a shot up if you can find the tank you want to shoot at
It would be nice for us, but…
I don’t think they’ll do that.
Because it’s Gaijin who has the principle not to actually make those incontrovertible changes (Ho-Ri is, of course, reviled, but without it, there’s no other tank)
Are you talking about Warthunder?
First of all, in Enlisted, as I said before, we don’t know the actual defense.
Only on Warthunder, and that can be done on consoles too.
but it punishes low skilled to medium german players but rewards highly skilled players
it also punishes allied players making it a coin toss if they get a stone wall or a glass cannon
Germany has an advantage in BR5?
To be honest, it doesn’t make much difference in most of BR5.
If you point out the biggest problem in BR5,
Soviet doesn’t have a good attacker corresponding to the Fw D-12, and Ofenrohr , and not have T-44-100.
GE is pretty good, but it can’t cope with RMN-50,
The US is all good, but not being able to cope with JP Rifle Mortar, not being able to destroy Ho-Ri in front of Ofenrohr, not of Japan’s TT Katana (this is bigger than U thought, Japan is lacking but there are quite a few strong parts)
JP doesn’t have a good attacker corresponding to P-47D-28.
And most of all, the lack of Soviet vs JP is a problem.
The infantry problem?
It’s a golden balance thanks to SF. (Conversely, infantry balance would have been a bit of a problem without SF.)
From BR5
The sniper is not Meta.
Currently, the 3 rotation of the Rifleman squad is the most efficient Meta in BR5.
There’s no place for snipers there.
Sniper shoots at 100-200m?
I just need all the soldiers to hit back with SF Rifle?
SF, which can counter-attack by watching killcams, has a really fraudulent effect.
So the infantry balance of BR5 is ironically the golden balance.
No matter how strong AR, MG, and SR are, they can’t beat the Rifleman Squad 3 rotation with 9 SFs.
That’s how much SF is meta, and you don’t have to use any other weapon.
It’s just an extra thing, and they don’t become meta.
That’s why it honestly doesn’t matter if don’t have it.
oh no, and I bet the german spade is also much better : (
for all I care remove them so you dont have to use these scapegoat shts.
so you would not opposed to having a 40 round BAR at br4 if ammo does not matter.
if you dont want scoped ars and sfs or give them to the us
you are right i think they should be removed
you were kind of greedy with the Soviets when they have M-13UK missiles, they are slightly more powerful than HVAR missiles and in fact they are BM13 missiles
Pe-3bis - 6 missiles
Pe-2-110 - 10 Rockets
Su-6 (M-71F) - 10 Rockets
Su-6 AM-42 - 10 Rockets
In general, I would consider any aircraft with more than four such missiles to be very powerful.
