This game messenger can call countless bombardments. Although its cooldown time has been extended, in battles such as Tunisia, a large number of players still use it as one of the ways to obtain income away from the front line.
Its danger is not only that it will lead to a lack of manpower on the front line, but also that artillery has been misused so that players really need artillery to do something and find that it is being used by teammates in the wrong place.
Artillery is an extension of firepower. Its role should not be limited to being used by a few players as a shortcut to kill enemies. It should be used for more important things, such as suppressing the spawn points hidden in the plains.
The enemy supported the roads of the front line, and some firepower points that were difficult for infantry to remove.
Many times I need the artillery to do something, only to find that the artillery is being occupied all the time. It is impossible for me to stand by the map and wait for the artillery to end during the frontline exchange of fire. Many times my orderly will die before the artillery support ends.
So I think there should be a limit on how many times each player’s orderlies can use artillery support, if they run out of cannons, they can’t use artillery until the next orderlies are ready
Artillery is cancer and i’m glad there is less of this thanks to airstrikes.
Just take a plane and bomb it, or push with a tank. Besides You can’t even call artillery on it if it’s in greyzone.
I hate how artillery is such easy way out of most situations.
Point too reinforced - artillery
Rally point behind building - artillery
Enemy coming to recapture point -artillery
Nevermind that it’s 90% of the time called on friendly troops, and while they don’t kill them, they are annoying as fuck with 30s of unavoidable screen shake.
skill issue
anything that decreases skill-less HE spam in this game gets a +1 from me. artillery is cool in theory but i don’t think it translates so well into practice.
hot take, but i think the grey zone should be pushed back a good distance or removed entirely. i’m sick of having to push into the grey zone as a defender just to end boring matches faster
it also means flanking is nearly not existent in a lot of maps/points, and if the greyzone was pushed back you could artillery those rallies or tanks camping there
defenders that insta crush their planes should not be able to use said plane for the rest of the gaem
i think each player should have a limited number of planes and tanks per point
this is just facts.
Most conquest maps have diffrent greyzones for both sides.
So one side can get rally next to point, and the other team is fucked as it’s in their greyzone.
I also hate artillery support, this game has too much artillery support, because as long as there are enough players, you can achieve infinite call bombardment.
I want to think of artillery support as a tool to assist the player’s attack, not a shortcut to gain experience away from the front line.
Many times I have to need it to help me do some things, such as preventing the enemy from returning to the defense, clearing the spawn point, suppressing the enemy in the wild, so I usually have a messenger in the infantry squad.
I also know that aircraft or tanks can do this, but considering the timeliness, aircraft and tanks may be slower than artillery support, and you need to choose it at the next resurrection.
I wouldn’t kill myself to do this, it’s probably faster and better to just call in artillery support, it just annoys me that they keep being occupied
For artillery support, I appreciate the design of Battlefield and Red Orchestra 2
Only the squad leader can call artillery support, not all players have the right to call, and experienced players can use it better.
You just answered Your own problem, it’s too easy and convinient, literally one button press, so it always be spammed.
If You limit it even more, it just leads to it being spammed less in bot matches, but regular 10v10 sweat games will reamain the same with constant artillery spam.
It will only ruin radio squad even more in most matches that are 80% bot filled, it won’t change shit when it comes to matches that have full human squads (most games should be like that anyway)
how do you decide who gets to use it?
I agree that the method of calling artillery support in this game is too simple, as if there are satellite-guided artillery, it should not be used in a way beyond visual range, nor should it be abused.
This game should make artillery support more tactical and difficult
Players with high scores have the right to use it. Usually, players with high scores are more experienced. Maybe the player with the first score should be automatically promoted to the team leader and get some special permissions.
In addition, I think the point system can also be referred to. Players accumulate points in battle, and calling artillery support will consume them to prevent abuse
I think a points threshold would be better, would also give more people the chance to use it
in your idea do you still need radio squads to call it?
If You have some ideas for that, or they can rework it somehow i would not mind. I just don’t see any way that would make radio squad worth taking.
We have tactical artillery in form of smoke, yet it’s barely used as it gives 0 score and shares the cooldown with all other artillery types. So yeah it’s not working great right now
Maybe reduce artillery call to 1 per radiomen for match?
Then what’s the point of taking radio squad for any f2p guy/
He get 3 squad slots.
And choose 1 squad that get one artillery use and then squad is just useless, or take radio in other squad and cooldown doesn’t even matter.
Or do You mean 1 per radio operator soldier, in which case i would change nothing still, because you have to wipe radio squad right now to reset 8 min airstrike timer down to 4
Soul Balance Issue
I mean 1 per radio operator per match.
I came up with even better solution: you have 1 call on each radio operator at the start, but to get another one after use you need to kill 3 people with this radio operator.
I don’t think it is necessary, you need to use the binoculars directly to provide coordinates for the artillery.
Professional messenger squads should be more inclined to team assistance, such as calling for smoke bomb mortar support, airdropping supplies, reconnaissance aircraft, etc.
That’s sounds cool
