SVT is.
better question is why are SA and SF rifles mentioned in quote about SMG/AR
and what is the logic of comparing an automatic rifle with a semi-automatic rifle?
That is literally what he said all this time
Whoever made this weird gun conparison chart must know it because I dont have a clue.
Because they have no drums so they are superior regardless of context.
I think its quite early to speak of soviets requiring buffs in other campaigns.
Id understand if the M38 ( 20mag ) was available to germans in every campaign but currently that OP cannon is reserved only to moscow.
Actually they both have very similiar stats iirc but Germa MGs have ābetterā rof and ammo count. Dispersion difference is 0.10 in favor of Soviets or so so at the end it depends on taste.
But in general I dont think MGs have a balance issue (performance issue is different topic) unless you are Axis Normandy main and complain about your Mickey Mouse MG34 having 25 rounds less than the M1919.
I greatly disagree.
I recently finished the Axis side for this campaign. I had started on that side because my buddies wanted the Tiger 2 tank. So we played it all the way through. While on that side, we found ourselves CONSTANTLY trying to scavenge enemy weapons. MGs and SMGs especially.
Upon finishing, we switched over to the Soviet side to be begin the grind there.
The Axis side definitely has MORE PLAYERS, but the Soviet side has BETTER EQUIPMENT.
Their MGs ALONE make them far more valuable.
- Slower fire rate (so you arenāt constantly reloading)
- Higher accuracy
- Less recoil when bipoded
- Seemingly higher damage (Iāll have to check the numbers)
The Soviet MGs absolutely massacre in stark contrast to the Axis ones, which are ONLY good for hallways.
Iām not even that big into the SMGs, but quite like having large magazines, and I usually start with them on semi-auto when working my way across the field, as it only takes 3-4 bullets to kill. On semi-auto, there is very little recoil, so I can take out 10-15 troops with ease before needing to reload.
If I come up on a group, simply switch to full-auto and rapidly dispatch the whole group!
Even their standard semi-auto rifles are superior as they have bayonets, while the Axis do NOT.
As far as tanks are concerned, their early tanks are superior as they have 85mm cannons while the Axis have 75mm. The Mid-Tanks are likely better for the Axis with access to the Tiger, but late stages, the IS-2 obliterates the competition.
Ultimately Iād say soviets win out on tanks.
Aircraft. The Axis I think wins out on fighters, while Soviets win out on attack craft by far.
CONCLUSION
Once again, we have the issue where a lot of players are jumping on one side or the other. This isnāt even a case of better gear. Simply that matchmaking needs to have more incentives to push players to play whichever side CURRENTLY has fewer players.
We have seen that messing with capture mechanics such as speed of capture and tickets rewarded is NOT a good method, because players will just jump on the side with the advantage.
My suggestion, which I have noted before,
-
add in a +50% xp bonus for playing as the current āunderdogā team,
-
additionally +25% xp bonus for each extra player the enemy team has. Example: if the enemy team has 3 more real players than yours, you get a +75% xp boost.
These numbers may seem high, but remember that the incentive needs to be high for it to START working. After that, the teams will begin to balance out and you will see far less instances of a single team being so stacked.
In the oddball matches where they ARE still stacked, the underdog gets CONSIDERABLY more XP for their efforts.
IIRC there will be bonus xp for join any faction after merge, so that may improve situation with playerbase disparity.
T-34-85 is much stronger than the Panzer IV J, no doubt but having spent more than a 100 hours in Panther G, I can state with confidence that is the best tank of the game. It can destroy any tank from any distance frontally. Tank most shoots and still be agile and smaller target for Panzerfaust which lets be honest is the number one tank killer in the campaign.
Tiger II and IS-2 have better HE and slightly better penetration and that is literally it.
Any tank that canāt have its armour angled without exposing a weak side is a piece of crap, so both IS-2 and IS-1 are worthless, just use T-34-85 which can still frontally pen the Tiger II from incredibile distances. TDs are pointless, sure they preform a tiny bit better against tanks but you want a turret in Berlin or infantry will raid you with Panzerfausts.
As for weapons, most battles are fought in CQC that is why I kept using Mg42 until I unlocked scoped Stg44 (still good gun but I donāt have enough slots to take 1 more squad).
Russian weapons shine in CQC, if you canāt deal with that, get a Cƶnders.
Alternative unlock the Fg42 or Fg42 II (which has a much better iron sight) and memorise the recoil pattern, practically turning it into a lazergun.
Fw-190 D12 is a jack of all trades, both great fighter and CAS, its versatility makes it the best in the campaign.
Honestly, the only issue in the campaign is that the Red Army starts with better gear (pps42 vs Mp3008, T3485 vs PzIVJ, and low lvl gear is also usally better and Germany needs more time to catch up, but in the end they are balanced (especially since devs stole Panzerfausts to USSRš, but Germany for some reason couldnāt get captured T-34 in Moscowš¤”, gotta love balance).
id point out that fair share of fuzz about FG is the fact that you can give it rifle squad aka getting full squad of FG42ās.
Could nominate it as best germut plane.
The controls are fkd, for no obvious reason the plane seems to glide sideways while doing cas but once you figure out how to control that its probably the best plane you can have as germut.
It can hold its own in air to air combat as well as having good arnament for cas as well.
that 30mm cannon can take out t-34ās from top.
That campaign pretty much feels like a test ground for DF, how much imbalanced sht they can add.
Same goes for M2 carbine, AVS-36 and AVT-40.
If we had a limit on how many you can have than surely they would be less hated (by the enemy players).
Which one you like more is a question of preference though most people claim the FG42 to be the best probably because its versatility.
My personal favourite is the M2A1 Carbine technically a GO weapon, but man, I love how it looks and its better than most allied smg.
People who are playing the Berlin Soviets are DISEASE of this game.
Good example is the Moat East, when they start the match standing on the open field and immedietely they all get killed by the artillery. Easy 20- 30 kills on a start for the enemy.
When playing with this people you cannot use a tank or plane, because this way you will leave them without a rally point, just like a small children without a care.
Definitively the hardest faction to play. Very good weapons but also the worst players.
