Neither can kill a soldier with vitality when upgraded. The vitality perk gives 35% more health, the default health is 10.0, so with vitality you have 13.5 health. The MG42 as well as all other MGs, with the exception of the fedorov MG, only do 13.2 damage maximum. So no, an upgraded MG42 cannot one shot soldiers, people will be running vitality especially at BR5.

Again you are missing key points
First of all:
A soldier with vitality will withstand both MG42 shot and RD-44 shot. As most weapons on BR5 one shot or drop you down to very little HP, the only case where MG42 has an edge over RD-44 is when enemy doesn’t run vitality - which in turn is an extremely rare case for high tier
Second: You control only 1 soldier at the time. It’s 100 RPM always because it doesn’t matter how many machine gunners you have in your team you will control only one gun at a time. Bots don’t shoot well enough to take them into consideration
And finally: RD-44 is both controllable and mobile which is the main upside of that weapon: the ADS speed and sprint speed multiplier. MG42 has much higher horizontal recoil which is much much harder to control when firing full auto (especially with higher RoF) and forces you to shoot bursts on long distances with MG42 when not mounted. RD-44 just sends bullets down the range because it has half the horizontal recoil and much better dispersion
So in the end: you effectively sacrifice 100 RPM for twice as good ADS speed, 30% better sprint factor, 25% better dispersion and 50% lower horizontal recoil and much much better moving spread increase
It’s just better bruh, idk what else there is to argue about. Even RDs sights are really good

Also, to add to this and respond to OPs point about having their squads be wiped by those guns: the MG42 and MG81 aren’t even that good for BR5 compared to everything else. If you are routinely getting 9 man SF rifleman squads wiped by it you are straight up doing something incorrectly. Giving Soviets a handheld abomination won’t solve a skill issue.

Soviets mains need this:
A combination of super armour (Soviet mains love their armours) and a high powered hand canon.
Though perhaps even using this they would complain.

I dislike wehraboos as well, but at least their annoying claims are about getting stuff on par with other factions. unlike commieboos who just want to cumulate strange advantages and justify those as being “flavour.”

no. you didn’t get the point. I don’t remember any forum threads where sovetbuu asked for armor with 10% resistance. Or “accuracy” for PPSh. The developer did it and didn’t ask anyone, moreover, didn’t tell anyone about it. But you’re shifting the blame to regular players, for some reason. Where are all these people who ask for these mythical “flavour.”?

It’s honestly baffling that almost everything you just said is wrong
- IS-2 is ass, that I can agree on
- AVT40(20) is regarded as extremely good SF rifle
- They have the best AR in the game: Fedorov Avtomat
- They have the best MG in the game as stated previously
- Their planes are largely lackluster because their good mobility fighter has 100kg bombs, their only attacker on BR5 is a flying brick and their jet is the worst one of all that were added
