The Merge: Gaming Without Drip

While the Test Servers have enabled us players to help refine the future merge experience for everyone to enjoy I have heard no voices speak up on a glaring issue that I have noticed and would like to address.

Drip.

One of the many things I enjoy about this game are some of the unique uniforms that premium and events have. However with the upcoming merge changing what maps will be selected according to the gear of the squad a large majority of players will never get to see these squads in their unique drip ever again. I could create a list of all unique uniformed squads to show how much will be lost, but instead I will address a few of the most popular and some personal favorites to.

German Axis -
Suomi KP/-31 Squad - Originally Stalingrad, but now will never see its original drip due to weapon being tier V.
Silent Hunter Event Squad - Cool full camo but now a 1 in 5 chance of seeing the drip.
Lebel 1886 Squad - Cool suit and tie that will never see Berlin again unless you take it there.
Tunisia Premium Flame Squad - Cool Grey uniform that will never be seen since the squad is now tier V.
MG-42 Early Squad - Very cool unique uniform. Originally Moscow but now will only ever see Normandy or Berlin due to weapon being tier IV.

Soviet Allies -
Lewis Gun Squad - Cool black coat that will only be seen in Moscow, too bad they’re tier III so you almost always get Stalingrad.
Federov MG Squad - Armored and with machine gun belts draped across their chest. Used to be in Moscow, but now will only ever see Berlin due to gun being tier V.
PPSH-41 Parkerized - Guys with machine gun belts and sailor hats that were in Stalingrad, but their weapon being tier V means their drip is gone.

USA/Great Britain -
No real loss of drip as most premium or event squads in the faction have weapons whose BR already correlates to their desired maps, or the squads don’t have drip. Only exception I have found are the Colt Monitor Squad; cool machine gun belts on uniform, tier III weapon meaning there is an equal chance to be put anywhere.

Japan -
Stuck to their one campaign so they are exempt.

To reiterate, the squads mentioned above are the ones hurt the MOST by premium/event squads not retaining their original, unique drip. But there are far more premium/event squads (vehicle squads included) across all factions that I haven’t mentioned in this post that are also affected, just not as worse.

So what is the solution? I see only one correct outcome. That outcome is to make the default appearance of each Event/Premium Squad their original, as advertised drip, across all campaigns. Then if they want to use their customization orders they can. As for squads that cant be customized ( Example: Silent Hunters) give the players a toggle that allows them to remove the unique uniform so that they then can customize them if they so desire.

I encourage the viewers of this topic to like this post and bring its attention into the light. This is an avoidable issue if the time is taken to address it.

Thank you

First I think we should be able to customize Premium and event squads however we want

And I think a much better solution is for the BR to be more historical. So say we only have the VOLKSSTURM Lebel squad in Berlin

I’d be livid if my italian fnab squad didn’t have their feather hats D:

I agree with being able to customize them how we want, but I want their default uniform to be the one they come advertised in.

As for Historical BR I disagree. We more or less have that now and its horrible. Ask any Berlin Allies, Tunisia Allies, or Pacific Axis player and they will tell you its miserable for them a majority of the matches.

I think the fnab is tier III so if you roll Stalingrad or Normandy you are out of luck. That squad (along with all Italian squads) is in a weird place where I understand why they don’t want players to be running around in desert camo in a Winter or European setting, but at the same time feather hats are awesome so let me where it everywhere please.

I’d argue that’s more to do with amount and quality of players on both teams, and I think it’s funny because a while back it used to be Tunisia the other way around
