The Battle of Kursk is not needed (Yes!)

They should make generic Ukrainian maps. They would fit both low and high BRs.

Ah you mean exactly battles within the USSR?
Yeah those are not necessarily needed, just high/all BR.

If we had healthy matchmaking without insanities I would love battles of Budapest, Warsaw, Konigsberg, etc. with recognisable architecture.

But since all we get is BR 1-5 “whatever” treatment, my vote goes to generic maps like Belarussian lakes, Polish village, Baltic forest, etc – they can work both for early war and late war.

This could be interesting, but I would like to see more diverse environments in the game.
But ultimately the developers always make their own decisions.

IS2, IS2 1944, Super Pershing, Pershing with APCR all of them can be found in the Tech tree and can reliably pen the Ferdinand.

Firefly is premium and can also go through Ferdinand armor with APDS.

Also Ho-Ri is no particularly considered as an issue while having more armor and less weakspots…

How many summer maps soviets have?

None.

Just winter, autumn and spring.

Sure if you either a remove the grey zone or b remove it’s he shells the elephant is only good against tanks, but the 88mm is crazy good at splash killing infantry squads from the ghost zone.

I wouldn’t mind Kursk being added, just I think it would be a map set best added in the event that the player base actually increases to the point where we can have 25 VS 25 battles, that way the number of tanks per side could be increased to 4 or 5.

I’d prefer other maps being added first. (Seriously though add some new maps, the map rotation is getting very very stale)

We only have two tanks in combat. as for me, the soviets lack open NON-CORRIDOR maps. Just like you

it’s not really that bad, it’s not necessary to win back the fields of fields.
A good example is a map from WT as an idea can be taken from there. but reduce it by several times, dig a bunch of trenches and other things.
It would be an interesting map for br 3-5

I still think it could work, especially by locking the map to BR2-4, which yeah does lock out something like the Ferdinand maybe, but Im sure the germans could get a Brumbar at some point or something. Still I can see it working.

However I think the next soviet mapset should be Sevastopol personally, I mean a fortress map sounds amazing, not to mention there is some really varied and interesting terrain, we could even see the return of the armoured train on the mapset.

You are right!
But most plebs don’t know or care about historical accuracy and the devs exploit that we are still here playing their game and buying premium while they piss on Historical authenticity, pushing the game ever more and more mainstream.

It would be about time we get HA events like you proposed or even better a “realistic game mode” with no BRs, no prototypes, balanced by limiting stronger weapons in numbers.

The historical accuracy thing unfortunately sailed away forever ago. Just think, if Winter War or Khalkhin Gol were ever added you would see Soviets running around with PPS-43’s. (Unless BR 1 being able to face BR 2 is removed, and these maps are added as only BR 1 maps)

Personally, I wouldn’t mind BIG Village Map, call to arms ostfront had a good kursk map, if df can pull similar big map with, AT build places, roads we can lay mines etc… and bunkers around the map, it can work good enough

See the problem with maps like that and the game that enlisted is atm, you very rarely have enough time to properly dig in, I mean if I could order AI squad member to dig designated trenches that would be nice, but you cant even do that.

Ferdinant will have worse armor than Tiger II because of its view port weakspots, Ferdinat front armor has a simmilar armor profile like Panzer IV, and those side view port are hitable from the front, I believe those have 80mm of armor

Ferdinant does however not come with a cupola - resulting in it not having an additional weakspot.

Ferdinant = no MG, no cupola
Elefant = MG, cupola

Literally the same weak spot as Tiger II.

Not many people can destroy a Tiger II with a Sherman and a T-34/85 by shooting its cupola. While it’s possible, it’s extremely uncommon.

for me kursk should not be added at least for now
it is an overused theater of war as was stalingrad (whose announcement did not give me any emotion) and apart from some tanks it would not add anything really new

i would prefer to see a resurrection of tunisia with new maps and unity (yes italian faction i’m looking at you) since it is a theater of war rarely represented and has been practically abandoned since its release by the developers

or even the countryside of italy (and greece) that at the level of maps would have a high variation between narrow cities, hills, mountains, beaches, valleys etc… and would give an incentive to develop factions like england and italy into more independent factions or complete sub-factions instead of being randomly scattered around the TT or literally not existing anymore

the addition of burma is a good example of how to spread a theater of war in a correct way by changing the usual island with a more urban environment and being part of theaters practically never explored
