m2 i do actually own ww2 real field manuals from the axis
had to translate word by word to even understand them when i was younger.
i m so glad someone gave my phone an app that translates on the fly with phone camera xD
they are stored on a safe place as precious items
I grew up before wiki existed too, and then I immediately learned itās a poor source to cite.
Finding out how hard it is to replace track is what made me not want to go bradley infantry.
Yeah, obviously the event vehicles should be unique but allowing others to customize or unlock skins for regular vehicles would be good for them and honestly improve my experience as well.
Our vehicles overseas looked drastically different than they did in garrison.
@120062891 scan all those notes and anything from your grandfather, please. Not for us but for the preservation of history and your grandfatherās story.
So much of that on-the-ground perspective in war gets quickly lost.
Nice, yeah track changing is no fun.
I was supposed to be in a mortar company until they found a defect in my heart.
So that ended all aspirations there.
Edit - its all scanned and saved. I was scared at first , Iām a Canadian National but with German parents, and its always a fear that someone in my family did bad things. But after almost 5 years of exhaustive research Iām happy to know that my family not only opposed it, but helped via the church to get those at risk out.
Also I took my own notes when him.and I talked about it. He said he was reprimanded for refusing to fire on a group of vehicles that did not appear to be combatant.
Actually not the first time Iāve heard that. MEPS (our military enlistment/screening centers) have caught cancer and all sorts of serious ailments and the applicant had no idea.
I never had the pleasure of working with Germans. I ran into them training at one of our US sites, then again down range but never did any Ops together. The Danish were surprisingly competent.
Hope your brother is doing good after his rotations. I know Germany has a contentious view of the recent deployments of the Bundeswehr and Iām sure that can be isolating. Itās probably good you kept in touch.
I forget what state I was in, in Germany, but I ran into a memorial for cowards and traitors. Maybe it was Wurms, anyway, it was a memorial that for people ābrave enoughā to abandon their comrades. I donāt think Iāve ever seen a monument to cowardice in my entire life and in all my travels.
Yeah I had no clue. I was in track, never smoked, did eco challenges, but it was a ticking time bomb. I was lucky.
Never heard of a memorial to that, thats justā¦wierd. so bizarre.
The best soldiers I had a chance to meet was a group of Italians (the nicest yet so professional) guys. And a group from Ireland that was practicing with our sharpshooters.
Good people, good for a laugh and a drink but very composed and honest. So hard to describe.
As for the brother in arms. Safe after 2, working now as a technician out west for the CAF. Also, not german, Canadian Armed Forces. I think you maybe misread something I posted (or I posted it wrong lol, which happens when I type from my phone and auto predict gets a hold of it lol)
He gets to play with all the cool toys.
German here ⦠we do not talk about the Bundeswehr (I was in the army for four years and actually my period of service was planed to twelve years, I was planned to become a staff sergeant).
thats actually a Finnish stug 3 as you can see the swastika has shorter edges and the PS number (on loader side of the case)
and to be fair historically 17th used STUG IV not 3, so historically its already out of the window unfortunately, as the only STUG 3 the 17th had was an aufs F with the 7.5cm L/40
yep, the firefly has worse camo (looks like an elephant being thrown up on) but still consider the factory camo on the stug to be worse historically.
im sure 100% of the ppl who bought the stug is for it being a stug, because in game even a panzer IV J would be better since you mostly end up engaging infantry,
and my assumption is if you already bought it you probably already have some extra slots and slotted up another tank if shit gets real (atleast i did)
I wouldnāt mind that the add an alternitive and free cosmetic camo pattern. Is a premium Squad and this one camo pattern is quite simple and easy to spot by the enemies. The developers could add a two or three camo color pattern with the famous āwaffleā Zimmerit pattern.
The machinegun defensive Subject I wouldnāt add that to this tankā¦but I really hope that they add in the near future for this campaign as well as future western campaings such us Market Garden and Bastogne the Stug IV with the remote controlled MG34 or Rundumfeuer machine gun mount (I think that the late Stug III also have got this kind of machinegun but has got more sense use It in The Stug IV, in my humble opinion)
