Enlisted has Historical Accuracy but its very much off balance the squads, battle grounds, weaponary and vehicles are all accurate. Its like its all jumbled up tho

Nah I dont really agree

If it brings in players than that is good for the game. Selling the concept of enlisted is rather difficult, so having some tags to attached itself to might help. Lots of hardcore simulator players will probably ignore the game anyway.

So yeah, Enlisted isn’t realistic.
But what is this game than? Don’t tell me “Enlisted is just Enlisted” this kind of BS.
Since “the merge”, the developers haven’t told us where they’re going with the game.
What is Enlisted a game about and for what kind of players?
If they were just willing to say “the immersion, the battlefield atmosphere isn’t what we care now”, things will be much simpler. Those of us immersion player will just quietly leave the game, and the game community will unite again.

But now I feel like even the devs don’t care that much about the game anymore, maybe they’re busy developing “Active Matter” or something.

Or at least have presets for certain maps so volkstrum in Moscow

Well… the original idea of Enlisted was to be a battlefield-type game but with a more realistic WWII atmosphere. The game always maintained an arcade style, but respecting the era it represents as much as possible. Of course, there were some liberties like the Lanchester, Sten and the Jumbo on D-Day but they were things that could be overlooked.

However, as the game “evolved” that care or realism in the environment was lost, adding weapons and vehicles for each campaign that were really out of context, long before Merge arrived.

Merge finished off that little historical realism that the game retained. Although well, it is still possible to find semi-accurate games, at least in BR1 and BR2.

Anyway, since Merge arrived or before it arrived, DF should have updated that information that assures that Enlisted is realistic, in the sense of historical accuracy

To be clear what I consider to be immersive enough is the pre merge gameplay.

Yeah reintroduce the campaigns and put BR system for the campaigns and people will play the campaign they like its that simple.

No,no,no I mean the gameplay like the appearance of the troops, I don’t want the campaign system to return.

Why every campaign will have its own appearance and you keep the current progression you will simply pick where you gonna play and that’s how you can control the appearance. And not only you can control the equipment just like now different maps have different BR … it wont be much different then now it will just give you the option to pick campaign you gonna play not to be at random.

god fucking damn it.
i see people are conflating “realistic” and “authentic” again. yes there is a difference between the 2, just look at War thunder as an example.
War thunder is a game that tries to accurate depicted the weapons used so it would be considered realistic (it was even credited as helping an IRL tanker for knocking out a tank) but you wouldn’t call it authentic since you can have T-90s and m1a1s fighting over the ruined streets of 1945s berlin or Jewish Mustangs fighting in the air along side German 109s against the US.

Enlisted is the same way, it’s realistic because it depends it’s vehicles as closely as possible to how they would actually work in real life. ESPECIALLY the tank gameplay, seriously HLL is considered authentic but the way it’s tanks work is completely unrealistic since they all have handcracked turrets, and AT just boils down to checkmarks. however enlisted isn’t authentic because of all the concerns people in this thread have

Cause you can’t make it balanced and realistic there is a reason the axis were winning then loosing. If you balance the numbers one for one squads and vehicles you have to goose the weapons. That is if the axis had a tiger for every Sherman and t34 with an Air Force they would have won the war. Sorry but it being heads or tails would suck, heads your early axis you win tails late axis you loose.

Maybe you can try to report this game’s false advertising to some sales channels or game platforms.
After all, teammates in a real war wouldn’t be stupid enough to charge straight into the enemy’s gun.

I see a lot of anger in the comments which I dont understand.

I agree with the original post.

Indeed iirc the devs themselves did a post about how they had chosen to sacrifice quote “historical accuracy” post-merge.

So yes I think it’s wrong to present the game as “historically accurate” or “realistic” when it’s anything but and the devs themselves admitted it.

Now, of course a computer game is never going to be 1:1 like real life (it would be crazy if it was).

Historical accuracy means British soldiers use .303s not bloody Springfields.

It means the Volksturm arent running around the desert.

It means Chinese soldiers arent landing on D Day.

Not to mention all the prototype crap which never existed outside a designer’s head.

Most of BR IV/V is utter BS.

There is plenty of real-world evidence that this indeed happened. A lot.

you can be realistic without being authentic

for those who are wondering
realistic definition that could apply

one of the use of the word authentic definition:

you can be one without being the other, so this game is realistic BUT NOT AUTHENTIC

Its not realistic its not authentic its not historically accurate. That’s it. Full stop, period.

Just admit it.

how is it not realistic? all vehicles and equipment are functioning how they would IRL with of course a few gameplay limitation (artistic limitation is also used in one of the definition of realistic), for reference this is like calling war thunder unrealistic when it was used in military training and was even used as credit for a bradley gunner that destroyed a T-90.

i also never said this game is historically accurate nor authentic because i am not a fool

Enlisted is like a WW2 movie, example “Saving Private Ryan” or “We were soldiers”. It’s based on a true event, but the producers play loose with the facts for entertainment purposes. Enlisted is a ww2 arcade game, nothing more, nothing less. We play because it’s fun, not because its realistic, although there are a lot of areas where I wish DF would have been more realistic.
