Well right now, when playing the russian side, 95% of the time you have to defend the objectives. That’s getting old and quite fast. I’ve seen players so bored with defending that damned railway station they actually started attacking and holding the greyzone border.
While there are certain maps that don’t allow a reverse of roles like Normandy beach (i mean it would be quite weird storming the beach as germans), I see no reason why on the same map that you defend as the russian side you couldn’t also attack with the objectives in reverse order.
My point is that if you lost some strategic points IRL in a battle, you would try to take them back no?
Basically every building in Stalingrad changed hands several times, so it would be both more fun and kind of historically accurate (just don’t make the Germans attack from the Volga side).
Sounds like Axis in Normandy and Berlin. Always on the defense. They really need to split up the defense to attack ratios
Are you saying Soviets can push back German attacks? I heard it’s completely impossible, cuz mkb42h.
( )
Well even then it would be possible to have an attack on these maps just that instead of pushing off of the beach, they would be pushing the Americans back into the sea
This could and should be done on every campaign and map. No one likes getting 6 defenses in a row (or more) just because of the side they play.
My sniper rifle is fair. It’s kills everyone in an equal manner regardless of what weapon they have.
They should really do a tug of war match where each side has 1000 tickets and 25min. Whomever controls the central building or has tickets left wins. Kinda Stalingrad version of king of the hill.
Instead of Conquest…destruction…
BF1 Frontlines - one of the best game modes I’ve ever played in any fps game.
I would very much be okay with something like that. Make it more interesting.
Plus zone control.
As much as I dislike 2042, I do enjoy the fact that you can capture zones, now just expand it so you don’t all have to cluster in on house and boom, much more exciting, tactical, and maybe slow down the game play a little, so its not just all automatics firing from the hip at a set piece objective.
Well the only two maps where it shouldn’t be possible is Wilhelm Straße and fatman street since they both end at the same point
Game modes certainly need more quality, innovation and attention to detail. It’s the same with all other aspects of this game, sadly. For example, defending could have been more interesting / fair / rewarding if maps and win conditions were different. That’s a lot of work though, so instead developers have seemingly opted to make a game for bots.
P.S. It isn’t just Stalingrad where changes are needed and possible. Even on the D-Day landing map you can have Germans attacking - in reverse order of course, to push the Americans back into the sea.
I understand it takes a lot of effort and expertiese to make maps work in both directions, but I’m all done making excuses for these developers. This isn’t the only solution, but they aren’t doing anything else either. It’s their job to make a good game and keep making it larger and better. If they can’t, they deserve the consequences.
You can’t just invert the map and call it a day, especially for D-day, the map is designed to be played in one direction and one direction only. Playing it inverted would require a whole host of changes to the map, which at this point is not worth it. Besides, the ratio of attack to defend for axis in Normandy is about 25% attack, 70% defend and 5% conquest, which is fine, and to some extent I enjoy playing a side if I have some degree of certainty of how I’m going to have to play. If I want to play more attack or defense than the faction I am currently playing, I can always just switch sides. Honestly, more people should do that instead of just crying about how they thing something is OP or how they don’t like to play a certain game mode.
At this point nothing is worth it because they’ve made a huge pile of garbage instead of a game. Adding more garbage on top of it is hardly worth it either, and yet that’s what they’ve been doing since release.
Something has to change. I can’t say I know what exactly and it isn’t me who has to know that anyway. All I know for certain is that what we have here is awful and drastic improvements are needed yesterday.
I mean, yeah, but I’d honestly be down for it. Clearly historical accuracy no longer matters (Fedorov in Berlin), so seeing as this would make axis Normandy actually fun to play, I wouldn’t mind it.
Hi,
ich denke wenn man die Fabrik incl. Gelände implementieren würde als Map wäre mal felxibler.
Cool idea, btw.
It was mine favorite game mode too. Hope it will be implemented some day.
