this would be great to have at br3 as a counterpart to the japanese type 100 late and soviet ppsh41 stick mag

Was this a field modification or…?

Totally agree this gun must be added as BR3 weapon mantaining the decent dispersiĂłn that MP-40 actually have that way German would have an opportunity to deal with the ppsh box

This could help with SMG balance, and Germany need a decent SMG in BR2.

Well, I wouldn’t have a problem buffing a premium MP-40 to 1,100 RPM, however, I don’t see any evidence that a high rate MP40 was even tested.

If there is some research saying that the Germans had tested an MP40 at those rates, then it at least could qualify as an experiment gun.

I love the MP-40 and it would be really cool to use it on BR3 too.

we got the obrez in the game aka “field modified gun”
If it didnt really require anything else than cutting recoil spring shorter I see no issue.

I would have been just fine with the Mp38 keeping its dispersion low as ppsh stick.
But for some odd reason DF fixed the Mp38 dispersion but conveniently forgot the ppsh stick.

people need to realize, that increasing spring tension in a gun can lead to issues -

magazines for example also have spring tension, and if the gun cycles faster then the magazine can push up a round, you are bound to get jams and malfunctions.

I think its stupid that PPS 43 in Enlisted shoots with 800 RPM even tho the standard configuration of the weapon was supposed to shoot as slow as MP40 by design, but then again, PPS 43 magazines were known to be remarkable and very reliable - especially for a WW2 gun … which is probably the reason why those field modifications were made in the first place.

Not in a game where paper prototypes work flawlessly.

Man, let us have fun. I would definitely appreciate more variants for MP40.

AVT-40 was used in semi-auto only…
Probably the only three SF rifles that would actually work in reality as they do in game are the FG42, M2 C and AVS-36 (but with a lot more recoil ofc.)

In Enlisted armies have unlimited funds and their guns have no flaws they can ship experimental guns at mass so that gun that is still pretty possible to make shouldn’t be a deal breaker just look at Uragan or list of weapons from all nations that could not been made without massive flaws

Obrez i highly doubt anyone wanted to shorten their PPSh-41 anyway maybe in future post ww2 wars like Vietnam and i even more doubtful of German soldiers using them as Obrez that couldn’t really be shot well without a stock
What about literally most of Japanese guns? They are all highly experimental and 2A was exploding at test range, Type Hei Automatic is a sci fi gun (and only one with a shield was made and tested and it failed due low reliability and too high of rof), Tokyo Arsenal SMG was inferior to MP18 and was breaking constantly during the tests. Then you have ruskies again with AS-44 model 5 created in unlimited quantities despite it having only one copy, Fedorov that is a ghost gun that did not exist past 1942 and had a lot of issues and was shooting at just 350-400 irl, T20 that had constant issues with it’s BAR magazine during testing and only around 100 of T20E1 was delivered to the army. PPS-43 ofc is a fantasy gun with it’s rof while that MP40 could shoot much faster. Also what’s with that Hyde M1944 “AR” it doesn’t look like to me it could be used by Army at mass since it’s fully metallic.
FNAB-43 irl could shoot faster if we have model without delayed recoil.

And there is also Beretta M38/42 that has false stats in game and should be buffed.

So nothing is realistic about any of the German opponents guns, so we can have at least one questionable but plausible gun in our arsenal.

very nice! a fire rate of 900 would be perfect for the weapons small magazine size.
since this is experimental, any fire rare between 600-1000 could be used. the power level optimum for the MP40s stats lies between 750 - 900, depending on the final recoil, obv it would need to have a bit less recoil than currently to keep its high precision.

having already one of the best iron sights and being flavorful for its historical fame, getting a strong BR3/BR4 modification of the MP40 would be great.

2 versions could be implemented:

  • a br3 version with same stats as currently but 750 fire rate
  • a br4 version with improved recoil and 900 fire rate

This in BR 2 could be the ultimate SMG for Axis up to tier 4, maybe 5. It is iconic as hell but still can compete with fast firing Allied and Soviet SMGs.
