I have seen references to this weapon, but I have not been able to find any real photos. So I thank @TheSaboteur59 for providing me with a photo of a real partisan kar98.

Is this the same as the Kar98 Trench Mod version with 25 rounds?

Possibly 20. By the way, I have come across references to the fact that the Soviets captured a certain number of Turkish trench Mausers98 in Iran and maybe used them in battles in the Caucasus.

No, the Kar98 Trench Mod version with 25 rounds is different. As far as I remember, the Kar98 Trench Mod was relatively official, albeit rare, while the Kar98 in this post is a homemade partisan modification. Secondly, the Kar98 Trench Mod version with 25 rounds has 25 rounds, while this one most likely has 20, the magazine of the ZB-26 machine gun.

At least the regular Turkish Mauser 98s were actually used in the Caucasus.

@c4qph2 Anyway, I was happy to help.
If anyone is interested, here’s a little more about this partisan Kar98. You can also find a photo of this partisan Kar98 with a magazine from ZB-26 in the book “Soviet Partisans.”

The photo is a little lower quality and looks a little different, but you can still see the Kar98 with the ZB-26 magazine.

sounds good, japan should get an arisaka with a magazine installed too so every faction can get a bolt action with hilarious capacity

i guess the US might need something new too because nobody owns the 1903 air service these days though…
