Something wrong with daily tasks?

Just today I have this issue with daily tasks, up until now whenever I have just last task to do (Elite Battle Pass) when I change the task it was one of the simple one to do like “capture 1 point” or “complete 1 battle” or “spend X amount of time in battle” or “kill X amount of enemies in battle”, basically the easiest tasks to do in a single battle.

Apparently today just for the first time ever I am at the last task out of 9 (it was “kill 5 enemies with TNT”) and I decided to change it for a simple task from the mentioned above, but what I got was not the usual, but instead one of them was “kill X amount of enemies with artillery”, other one was something else I can’t remember but nothing of the easy one, and after 3rd reset I’ve got “destroy 5 enemy tanks”.

My question is what happened, is it a bug or a feature? Again that is the first time ever it happend to me since years of playing this game and I don’t like it where it goes.

It’s a random roll. Re-rolling the task isn’t guaranteed to give you an easier one.

Nah man, I know what I am talking about, for so many times I’ve done that (changing tasks) I can tell you, when you are at the last daily task out of 9 you are basically guaranteed to get the simple one even if you reroll the one as the destory x amount of tanks and so on. Today it is first time it did not change for a simple one for me and I’ve been here for 3 years now doing 9 tasks countless of times.

I even had some… how to call it, system to be told, to just do the easy tasks from the bottom, that took me exactly 7 battles, then reroll one of the 2 remaining tasks (8th) to just get the easy one, and after that reroll the last one (9th) for the final easy task, so no randomness with the harder ones as far as I know.

Honestly I have no clue, all I know I have 2 hard tasks and 1 easy task, in the exact same order for about 4 months now, no matter the rerolls, no matter anything, there is never any variation from it, it will always be 2 hard and 1 easy.

Don’t know if you have Elite Battle Pass or not, honestly I don’t even know how it is without it as I always have it active since it was introduced years ago.

Basically (speaking about Elite Battle Pass) how it works is that every day you have 2 hard tasks and 1 easy task available at first. If you try to reroll any of the first 2 tasks that are hard you will always get the hard one for them, if you reroll the easy task you get the other easy task instead.

BUT

If you are at the last 2 hard tasks (that means you completed other 7 tasks out of 9 including the easy one from the bottom) you can reroll any of the 2 hard tasks that are left and always get the easy one for one of them, basically instead of 2 hard tasks you have now 1 hard and 1 easy task. When you complete the easy task you are left with 1 hard task, again you can reroll the last hard task and get the easy one every time. This was the case for me all this time but not today, that is why I wonder why it didn’t work like that just this day and if it will be like that ever since.

think that you are overthinking RNG.

Can’t overthink something that worked specific way for at least 2 years the way it was, it really screwed my plan for completing daily tasks just today when I planed to change the last hard task for an easy one, but this one time it did not work like it used to. So it may be just a bug but I need to know if it’s the case for anybody else.

idk about you, but for me when I reroll a hard task I always get a hard task, doesnt matter if its the last two left for the day

There was this thing like Academy in the first year of open beta for Enlisted, basically it was a “hunger games” for soldiers, you put 3 of them (could be different class of soldiers) into Academy and get 1 with a"better" rank, but it was kinda random.

The thing was that for me as well for some other players, when you placed a soldier in a specific slot out of the 3 you sent you will always get that one soldier with higher rank back. What I learnt many months later from the forum after it was changed for me that it really wasn’t working like that for majority of players, for others it was always random which solder got back from the merge in Academy.

Basically despite having the same client of the game me and some other players had different outcome than the rest of the community. Maybe this whole thing with changing tasks is a similar case this time, that I could always get an easy task when there were 2 last daily tasks available while it did work differently for others.

like i said you are overthinking RNG. i get everything when i reroll. from easy to hard tasks. there might be higher chance for easier task, but it is still RNG.

Read what I said above about Academy, it may be similar case all over again but with daily tasks. Like I said, the outcome was always the same for me for the past 2 years at least, but now is different.

it is like flip of the coin… someone might get 100 heads in a row, but it doesnt mean that the odds of flipping the coin arent 50 50.

I am sorrry, but I won’t believe that for all this time I was so lucky to always get the same outcome for years, not a single time it was any different. If I had only 2 hard tasks left (the condition was to not have easy task active) I could always reroll an easy one, usually had 5 rerolls available at this time and it was working every single time for hundreds of times, statistically not possible to happen.

That is why now I think it could be a bug for me for all this time just like it was with Academy before and it somehow got fixed after all these years, or it actually is a bug now for me.

I think Occam’s razor might instead apply here, and like he said, its just a weird semi client side issue.

Like while my luck may not be great generally, I think getting odds of 100 factorial, or frankly far higher in my case are simply too small to play off as sheer RNG, at least for a system like this in which it should be somewhat common to swap between hard or easy tasks.
