Something in the RoadMap bugged me,

the point of this game is the squads, its what sets it apart from every other WW2 shooter, this addition in the roadmap bugs me
“We will also add a mode where you control only one of your soldiers without any AI controlled soldiers present in the battle.”
i don’t like it one bit. it seems like a bad idea to divvy up your player base between two game modes, and to discard what makes this game special seems like a bad long term idea.

Can’t wait for that AI less mode, at the moment AI is useless, sitting ducks on the battle, mobile respawn units.

For me AI would be better to replace humans on less populated servers, like happens on other games.
Even though I like the AI squad concept, I doubt their behavior will improve to be comparable to real players without feeling too OP in some cases or too dumb in other situations.

For me this new announced mode seems interesting, maybe it’s related to a battle royale as the map is suited in size for that kind of style,
Time will tell…

i do agree.

i don’t see nor understand why the devs should put away the AI like that. people don’t understand the ammont of work behind AIs. we can all agree that sometimes AI are clumsy, but not dumb. surely there’s still work ahead, but there’s planty of time for improvements.
and divide the playerbase i’m skeptical about it.

anyway, we’ll see.

I’d argue that 1* AI is dumb.
I would love to see all AI have the capabilities of the maxed out one.

This game should be popular, so has enough player base to divide.
For me and causal players, playing with bots is a must. At least you can kill something.
I dont want to play with veterans who just ignore new players’ game experience.
I play game for fun, not for fierce competition.

I definitely agree with skepticism. This AI system is among things that differentiate Enlisted from casual ww2 shooters the most. Getting rid of them feels like removing game´s soul.
Of course that is only gamemode, not 100% removal… but then again, yes this game should be popular but at start its probably not going to be popular enough to populate two gamemodes… While adding this later is a good idea, but it may be risky right on start.

The Game Population cannot support such a divide, if you don’t like having AI on the battlefield then go play something else like Hell Let Loose or Post Scriptum, the Squad AI can bring a lot to the table, this game wasn’t and shouldn’t be another copy paste Red Orchestra. And if you want to go play a WW2 Battle Royal, play Cuisine Royal, it’s made by the same company

Who are you to tell people other games to play?
Devs said on roadmap that will be a mode without AI, that’s not a suggestion from players, it’s on their plans already.
Like or not they gonna add that mode.
Player base will define if it’s worth or not.

I liked this point and in my opinion Enlisted could really shine in the game mode without the AI.
Let’s be honest, AI sucks and will most likely suck for a long time. Devs may improve it but they have limited capabilities and funds. It is never going to be as good as a real player. I understand as well that lots or work was put into implementing functional AI into the game and I appreciate their originality but some ideas just don’t work out well.
My another problem with the AI is that it has the bad impact on the flow of the battle. AI isn’t independent and the only with it would on its own is either move or shoot. It isn’t even good at those two things. Meanwhile a player can manage a lot of thing like going to capture bases, throwing granades, setting fortifications, changing stances depending on the situation, etc. Moreover, in reality there are only ten players on each side, the rest consists of AI that mindlessly follows them. It causes a problem with the flow of each battle. In normal games like Battlefield there are thirty two players on each side so in total you have sixty four players that can make their own decisions. One player decides to stay back on shoot people with a sniper rifle? That’s ok. Meanwhile if a player does that in Enlisted, the whole squad stays with him. The results in 10% of the team being away from the objective. I hope to see what I mean here. If instead of bots, there were other players in his squad, they would be free and able to go for the objective. In before, yes, I know that you can give your squad an order to capture the objective but most of the times they’ll get quickly killed.
Another argument is that it will split the playerbase. I don’t see a problem here. The player shouldn’t be limited to just one option. I for example don’t like the conquest mode. Why should I keep playing this mode if I don’t like it? Almost every fps game has various game modes and nobody minds it. In Battlefield people play conquest, rush, frontline, tdm and players love it because they have a choice.
In conclusion, I think that Darkflow should definitely add a gamemode without the AI, even for the sole purpose of trying it out. It may end up better than the current game mode, you don’t know that.

There are simply way to many people asking to try a game mode without ai. Devs have probably decided they shouldn’t ignor that kind of feedback and have at least try it to see how it works out.

They gonna implement battles without AI, and I’m interested in those since AI is useless. If population goes to PvP instead of PvE that explains what the majority wants to this game.
Same goes to create a campaign(story) mode, how many people are really interested on CoD or BF single player mode? Few…
The user above Martinez explained good points that I agree.
Even as a company they need to test what’s best and attract more players, so having both AI and without AI modes are a good way to verify by stats what’s more profitable.
Anyway, glad to see that non AI battles are on their plans, since it’s a F2P game without much competition besides Heroes and Generals.

It is F2P and better than HaG, but how many people have heard of enlisted, how many have played and how many will play, I’m curious in the numbers, if the devs think they can support a whole another mode with the current player base then we’ll see, but it’s F2P, they monetize the AI squad mode aspect with premium squads, so how will they do it with the Solo mode? there will be a battle pass but paying $20+ for a squad rn is extreme if the majority of the players move to the solo mode, then that means that investment wasn’t much worth it. However, I believe they shouldn’t stray from what its core game mechanic, which was 1 player controlling a squad of AI (if that really was its core mechanic)

Players requested AI mode so we are getting one!
