Most planes would be shooting at the SIDE of a tank - the angle to of dive required to hit the top effectively is too steep - the shallow dives actually used would hit the side, or if hitting hte top would be at such a shallow angle that even the thin top armour was sufficient
Still fun as heck and a welcome addition to get ppl to use fighter planes, which in turn, will hunt down bombers.
I don’t get too attached to historical accuracy in Enlisted anymore: everything we see in the game is done so to boost gameplay, or to favour a certain type of players, like the absence of recoil on avt40.
well, personally I love the change, tanks shouldn’t be immortal, however seeing again how the short barreled Panzer IV can easily take out T34 and T50 while the Panzer III J still somewhat struggles, shows that post pen damage and explosive filler still has a much higher value in the anti tank role than actual penetration potential of the gun.
Wow, in which place did you find dev talked about increasing all weapons’ armor penetration attribution?
Did they talked about planes’ cannons changes? Or any tank shells changes?
also, what bothers me more is that the new “ricochet mechanic” functions as a massive nerf to HE rounds.
While in theory a cool and immersive mechanic, it kinda sucks in enlisted, because HE doesn’t work properly to begin with. Like if you shoot your HE at objects like a tank wreckage, the shot will disappear without dealing damage to infantry. That’s why shooting the ground was the preferred thing to do, because that way you can avoid triggering that unreliable damage system. Now this is also unreliable.
Yeah, that’s what’s extreme annoying. Lots of surface will simply eat HE shells. Forcing players to hit the ground instead.
I have talked to Keofox and they simply buff tanks by slightly increasing ricochet angle threshold.
But the problems of eating HE shells is still exist.
Ricochet effect is very important to shell physics. I personally welcome this addition.
For HE bugs…
I’d rather let dev to revoke tank’s MG cooldown nerf. In the past, tanks’ MG isnt as unusable as today’s one.
