Sleeping on Solothurn S18-100

it has 10 shots in a clip enough to take out 2 tanks in seconds

in any case. if you read the thread, its not that its been “slept” on. Its just that its not remarkable in comparison to BR 1 Semi Auto AT rifles. you pay a heavy price with no mobility, for not much “relative gain”

I checked out the post and it says to forget about killing Shermans and other allies tanks when it can penetrate the side of the tank easily. when it comes to Russian armor thats a different story but you shouldn’t be trying to attack a kv1 with AT rifles. It’s an extremely good AT rifle and comparing it to japans AT rifle performance is pointless since they dont fight each other ( weight is the only thing to look at ). when it comes to the Russians AT rifle its worse by a lot because it will struggle vs any BR2 or BR3 ( it can only see up to BR2 ). with the PTRS you will still need to get the side of most tanks it sees while half the tanks the S-18 sees it can destroy with hardly any problems.

the conclusion of that post makes the S-18 seem like its a weapon that no one should try using since its in br2 when it can hold up vs most br2 tanks and fight br3 tanks with ease

??? The conclusion says nothing like that at all. It says it is fun in the first sentence…, But it should be BR 1 with the rest

And it certainly can NOT hold up against BR 3 tanks if you read the results…Even the PTRS 41 has more viable targets at BR 3 than the Solothurn. And we all know how that perfromed it BR 2…(it got moved to BR 1 and rightfully so)

like I said before I had other AT rifles fail me when shooting at sides of tanks standing near them. this gun doesn’t have any problems what so ever

well

we already have GRB39 which can destroy BR5 Tanks

and its a Tech Tree AT

the ptrs is weak compared to the S-18. S-18 can hold up vs allies tanks in br3. when it comes to Russian armor it will struggle but it will do better then single shot AT rifles like the GrB or the pistol

the conclusion says its not justified to be at br2 and its pointless at BR3 when its the other way around

Are you using a translator? Because the meaning isn’t getting through. Im just curious.

I think you mean mag, bud.

lol. the S-18 is great tool to be at BR2, it can fight BR3 allies tank with hardly any problems ( clearly you can’t shoot through the front of tanks at br3), the Russian equivalent is half as strong as it, and moving it to BR1 will cause it to get nerfed making it as usless as other br1 AT rifles.---------- Even with the Prone limitations the Solothurn is fun . HOWEVER This is a “Limited Edition” BP Weapon for a Nation that Doesn’t have a semi Auto AT rifle. Its results do not justify it, especially considering the Bipod/prone condition. Relatively other AT rifles are just as effective/pointless at BR 3 (uptier happens alot). It should be at BR 1 with the others (especially the Type 97).-------- from reading this it seems like the S-18 is being slept on

im just going to assume its a translator issue, or you didnt read

clip and mag is the same to me even if they mean two different things

I mean, not to split hairs, but you use a clip to reload a magazine. Ah, whatever. As long as you know the difference.

I literally went into training grounds and tried it. I said I checked the post out so I didnt see the part where the person said it can go through the side of tanks easily like other rifles. This is false because other rifles struggle to go through the side of tanks even if youre standing near them and I had plenty of times where shooting with br1 AT rifles just did nothing.

Personally i would this thing be able to shoot while standing and give soviets the same horrorific war crimes they done to GE while using PTRS-41

But well when it comes to give content to Germany there is always the rule that it need to be handicaped somehow Even if is just a stupid thing that way sov/allies playerbases don’t complain

for me the prone requirement is a plus. it makes it unique for the germans by making it have more skills involved instead of just walking past shooting a few times and then walking away like it was nothing. if they add the prone requirement to Japans AT rifle it would be nice as well because you’ll see more people in buildings setting up ambushes or even using the magical boom sticks

Well maybe all AT rifles should be used while proning that way all of us have to do the same in order to blow enemies sounds fair
