Should Win Rate Be Affected by Leavers?

I hate comparing a computer game played for fun to professional sports.

Signing up for an actual football team is VERY different to just gaming as a hobby and joining a match.

Also someone leaving doesnt affect the game in the same way it does in a sport. Sport people have specific roles, Enlisted its just a bunch of randoms with a whole bunch of really dumb bots following them around.

You can have a team full of players and theyre all still highly incompetent.

Just today I was in a round. I was waiting for lunch in between my uni classes. (i.e important stuff).

I was forced to leave because lunch was ready and class was soon.(remember, when we log on we dont know how long a match will last, it could be 10 minutes, it could be 50 or more)

I lost all my progress thanks to this stupid punishment rules.

I couldve unlocked a new gun but I missed out. Because I have a LIFE.

Players should not be punished for leaving a COMPUTER GAME.

War Thunder doesnt punish anyone.

We should reward those that stay to the end, but not punish those that leave.

Certainly 70% of your XP gone is way too much.

And as I said before, we have this very brutal and unnecessary rule which clearly isnt working. Because people still leave for no good reason just cause they got shot once.
We cant stop that.
DEAL WITH IT.

Stop punishing people for needing to do important things. Why should I lose all my XP especially as in today when I was there until the last point to be captured anyway?
When you lose over 70% of your XP it means the entire game was basically just a pointless waste of time so its even more frustrating.

Sports are recreational (for fun) as much as they are Professional. Which I said in the first sentence

I have played lots of sport, none of it professional. Tennis, rural football, rugby table tennis, darts, community lawn bowls, indoor soccer, even the school E-sports we run now at the schools on weekend is just for fun.

Thats what we did when we didnt have all these easily accessable PC games and consoles.

But the same rules still apply when you are keeping score or a tally.

During harvest half our players have important things to do (get the harvest off before it rains) so we have to forfeit alot during that period.

No ones talking about punishment. A loss on the “tally” card when forfeiting is not a punishment. its the normal way to tally.

Punishment would be you get negative xp, lockout or suspension. Theres a difference.

This isnt even the same thing. This isnt tied to whether you got a loss on your record or not. This happens independent of what we are talking about. You didnt get this reduced xp because you got a loss marked on your tally, you got it because you didnt finish the match.

Bottom line is having a forfeit = loss is specifically to prevent the type of player that leaves to “manipulate” Winrate, or Battlepass rank.
