I would change the SMG tree to a
(can be rearranged depending on needs)
MAC 1935 (7,65mm) > STA 1924 (9mm) > MAS 1933 (9mm) > MAS 38 > Gnome et Rhône R5 (9mm) > SE-MAS 1922 > Pistolet ETVS > Petter Mle 1939 > Thompson 1921 (with French order specs) (still .45 ACP) > Chauchat-Ribeyrolles 1918 SMG (w/ chauchat mag)
One could argue the Erma should be there given it was a Belgian variant in 9mm Largo and not the German version in 9mm Para
For rifles, just forget the Garand and look up “Proud Promise: French Autoloading Rifles” on internet Archive. All my following picks are form this book.
Garand replacement : I am a fan of the MAT 1931 for the two piece asthetic but if you really want a Garand look alike, use the MAS 1928-31 instead.
SE-MAS 38-39 and MAS 40 are good picks for end of tree (especially the MAS 40 with scope which would go well with the short 10 round box magazine and the MAS 40 with 25 rounds box magazine )
Top of the Rifle line : The FM ENT B1 can top the branch with its detachable box magazine version. Alternatively the Berthier Automatic Rifle (not the book one, the other one that is a convertible between MG and Autorifle), can do the same.
Also where the hell is the Sniper Lebel ?
AT/Mortar line : AC Boys was used but i think the Nivert rifle would be a better fit (maybe have both idk)
I am forced to admit there is no equivalent to the PIAT or Bazooka
But Flamethrower-wise we have the Schilt, the P3, the P4, no need for US stuff
MG line : 1909 ok, but why Bren mk1 when there is the FM MAS 1922 (not the Hotchkiss 1922, different gun)
The FM SE MAS 40 could also play a role there or as a FG-42 equivalent (same weight, same role as a paratrooper gun = same place)
Chauchat is never bad
MAC 1931 should have the version with the 24/29 bipod and a longer stock and the version with the fixed bipod. Maybe differentiate them with drum/box mag
Throw in a Infantry Darne MG and ana M1913 Chauchat-Stutter MG (aka top-loaded chauchat or air chauchat)
Tank and plane wise… we’re gonna need a lot of copies but at least remove the Vought 156 and put a Loire-Nieuport 40 and 41. The Hotchkiss 39 is useless (no matter where you put it). can’t say much about the rest. ARL44 feels wrong as it is a 1946 production (and trust me i am very defensive of it in WT)
