RIP medics

Since the score got halved, and score limit per healing same ally been added (anyone knows how much, let us know), let us celebrate another predictable nerf made possible by exploits 5yo could figure out.

Minute of silence for only class i had fun in stalingrad with.
Rip medics, rip stalingrad

I rarely see someone other than me play as a medic and actually heal teamates or place boxes. And now they made them even more useless than anything other than a glorified assault squad. Great priorities dev team :+1:

TNT is Nerft too or? Now a Tank easy Survive it… But hey i have 9x3 Detpack Troop No Problem

Guess I will quit playing medic squad. Its not realy that useful to begin with and there is no point in “doing your job” if the job is too inconvenient and does not award proper points in compensation. I rarely see anyone actually be a medic as a medic in this game. Heck, most people don’t even play the objective anymore because they are trying to do daily or weekly challenges or rack up kills!

If some of you still don’t know why this change in XP for medics and other restrictions, here: Oh no, I never asked to nerf the score of medics... 30 back to 15 again, seriously?

Like… they were used before anyway?

Yeah i know why they did it, not to stop people from getting better ranks in event.
Everything comes down to ensuring the grind stays as terrible as possible, so any xp gaining exploit is top priority for extermination.
Customs reket in few hours, medics reduced to obscurity after weeks.

And i use to play medics a lot, actually had fun running behind allies and healing them up, some break from fast paced combat we get in all other campaigns.

Now i won’t play as i know i mostly healed one dudes whole squad when he got hit with artillery or something.
Well i was gonna leave stalingrad after event anyway.
btw i did cheese this mechanic like some other, though only once, just to try if i could. i didn’t see it before, it was just so obvious many people thought of this independently, just not devs as always

They were giving 15xp, but now they have a cooldown on healing sam ally.
I don’t even know what’s the limit, but i’m 99% sure it’s shit like customs xp after nerf, so not gonna bother. (99% sure because if they didn’t nerf it to shit, someone could just team up with 4 players and heal each other in a sequence, so if it’s not nerfed too much, it soon will be)

And i actullly played medic as intended, so i know that You heal same soldier twice many times, and healing some allieed player squad is now also nerfed.

I don’t want to sound arrogant, or anything like that, I believe there are players who try to be good medics in the game, but as I mentioned before, the medical class as it is now implemented in the game is nothing more than one of the many marketing gimmicks to promote Stalingrad campaign.

This class is unworked and logically ill-considered to be fully useful in the game at the moment. Hope it will be fully reworked before going to other campaigns.

The few games i played most fun i had with medics, maybe because mg’s suck, i like bolts too but they feel just like when i started playing game year ago so nothing new.

It’s just diffrent kind of gameplay, i don’t rush to frontlines like always, spread medkits around point, and run around looking for people to heal.
Even in MG squad i was running mostly with my medic, same in engineer one after building some stuff.

If You don’t think they are usefull, try playing custom game on Berlin, with one dude from Stalingrad playing as Medic. Assaluters and MGs III with their better healing perk and medpacks to pick up in every corner, not to mention dude running and healing everyone.
It just doesn’t work as good on Stalingrad because bolt actions work like they are supposed to.

I can’t comment too much on this aspect as I don’t play custom games. Since I think that anyway, most of the playerbase, and the main line of play on the development side is concentrated in squad gameplay, the experience of custom games is more the exception to the rule.

Each element that will be in the game will be used in one way or another and will find its players. The question is how much it is useful in a broad sense, how much it is needed in the current style of the game. In such a fast-paced game, where the main point is simply rush the point, when things happen so fast that the tactical use of medics becomes only the initiative of each individual player.

I meant try to see how it plays on other campaigns, not to play custom games all day long.

Shovels are only in Tunisia, but in customs You can use them in othen campaigns, they are still buggy, and even in tunisia matches can be too fast for them. But balance is so way off in steamroll matches, You get so much time You can do anything. I was digging trench with 2 dudes whole game and bots from enemy team didn’t even cap first point.

Now imagine medkit boxes in bunkers of Normandy, or ruins of Berlin. I get heals already from my bots for flametroopers with 150% vitality, with medics from stalingrad and ammo box i could hold a point spamming flames forever.

Of course You can say that most players will just spam smg’s and mg’s, but i can say that most of those people are bots or new to the game. And playing against skilled players they fold like paper.
But there are sometimes matches that are filled with players who can play, and it becomes a grande throwing competition.

Neither of those are what i would consider relistic sim or even fun experience anyway so i don’t want it to continue. It’s either too boring or so fast paced You can’t even run into the objective without blowing up to artillery, planes, tanks and 10 granades (bonus point rmn and mortars).
I think You just look at it from perspective skewed by lack of balance in matches, being either 5-10min rush, or 50min marathons.

The games i had most fun in were somewhere in the middle, not full bot teams, not full sweatrlords teams from event matches. It’s so rare recently it’s hard to explain, but i think medics could be good addition in those matches.

Yup. Unfortunately, such matches are a rarity. And yes, I’m definitely not against medics. I am behind every initiative from the developers. As good as medics can be, I also imagine. However, they are not like that now, and people want to give their feedback to developers that medics are in a hurry to come up with a more significant role, with better instruments so that they won’t become an artificial filler in the game.

Simple example is that if you don’t play voip with a team, your braindead team mates will never notice that dropped little medical box you’re about to run through.

Medics must have exceptional perks, allow them to stay in battle for as long as possible, they must be able to pass spare simple medic pouches when you run out of them ect, ect. Developers have to figure out how to make a medics, a super supportive class, to make it worthwhile to replace it with any other assaulter squad you have in your disposal. Because now they’re just a first class assaulter, with a cool looking helmet.

Quite a lot of people noticed when i was healing them, medical box is up to them to use, but healing with fyringes i hella fun and some people do notice.
