For the Research points that players have reserved, it is better to give them more space to consume them instead of weakening them and making them feel annoyed.
A player who reserves a large number of Research points usually also has a large number of silver coins. I think it is meaningless to simply exchange silver coins.
My suggestion is:
Add some rare weapons/vehicles/squads to the game. They may be weapons that only stay in the design stage and have not participated in actual combat. They may have some special abilities.
For example: The Japanese camp can consume the reserved Research points to develop A6M1. Its performance and appearance may be the same as A6M2, but because it is not a carrier-based fighter, it can be deployed in the air, making up for the problem that Japan has low BR and no air-deployed aircraft.
Or a special messenger squad that can call for grenade discharger for artillery support. Although the damage caused by grenade discharger to infantry is much lower than that of artillery and rocket support, it has a very short CD.
Other factions can also unlock many interesting and rare weapons
For example, the German faction’s Panzerfaust 150, HIW VSK, Zimmerit
The Soviet faction’s RPG-40, T-43
The American faction’s F6F-5N (compared to the existing F6F, its advantage is that it carries radar), T-24, .303 British BAR
They don’t need to be too powerful, but they must be special or interesting, so that players who have accumulated a lot of Research points can get a different way of playing and encourage them to continue to obtain more R&D points
