Shotguns used to be really good in Enlisted also we had convovs about it in multiple such threads so eh who cares about it beign “derailed” somewhat

I’m beginning to think its rather useless making these threads as they may not get read by the developers.
If there basing there changes of these things then its a shite way to go about making changes in order actively develop a game you need to play it, involve yourself with the player base and pay attention to what people are talking about on the forums so you can know what needs to be changed.
only picked up the double barrel in Moscow camp once and didnt had it for long to say if its needed or not. Perhaps buff it a little maybe from the performance i saw. Problem is that Russia is allready powerful in CQC with PPD from the start so could be because of that they nerfed it. Idk im pretty new in here so just speculating (and theres prob other roots out from this to) if its vial thing to do so to speak overall. But yeah shotguns should have an punch for sure in close combat
Reminder they though nerfing bolt action accuracy was a good thing… something no one asked for.
So if the Forum’s a sea of poo their studio is probably a sea of radioactive poo or just the markets trying to push people further into the meta shit to make more money off of powercreep
i have kept a few shotguns in every campaign and side with the hope they will be restored

Not quite. As I recall, this nerf happened after latest Berlin CBT started. German engies had luftwaffe drillings equipped and soviets came complaining to the russian forums that their PPS-42s got outgunned by double-barrel shotguns.
sorry i was only talking about Moscow from my perspecive where Russia has both smgs and shotguns…Should have said that.
Double barrel were also better in CBT they nerfed em but they were still viable and berlin got em perfectly.
This request appears rather often but not a single dev or helper ever answered this concern @GROSSE_KAISER.
Shotguns were nerfed into uselessness long time ago, and ignoring this concern can´t go on indefinitely. Please, either tell us why devs would never revert that nerf, or at least give us hint that this concern (that is rehabilitation of shotguns) shall be taken into consideration.
I’d say they were the best shotguns I’ve seen in a video game. They worked like shotguns and weren’t useless past 10m.
My guess is that shotguns worked nice but because berlin was almost pure CQC, they were “overperforming” (aka working as intended in terrain that favours them). It was like nerfing a snper rifle on a dessert map.
The only reason why they were overperforming in Berlin was that during open testing axis had squad fully armed with them, while soviets got next to nothing.
Even then it is not more broken than SF rifles for troopers.
Well, it was still only one squad. But I can imagine the hell Berlin would become if shotguns weren’t nerfed nor restricted. For some reason devs decided to do both
Well, shotguns werent meant to be used by literally every soldier in the first place.
In fact, outside of that testing, they are available for assaulters.
Giving them to fully manned engineer squad was stupid decision… which produced stupid statistics.
Especially since they didn´t mirror this stupid decision to soviet composition too.

Shotguns from past Berlin would be fine weapon for assaulters.
Shotguns in general are only usable by assaulters as far as I know.
They were actual competitive sidegrade to backpack.
Since nerf, they are just an additional weight, and absolute waste of space and tickets.
