Big issue is Arty right now it’s issue isn’t itself, more how it can be spammed in one spot endlessly, while they pick people off with snipers since they never planned for team work.
Mortar again a big issue is they’re generally a squad of 3 (mortar/engy/engy), They hide in the black zone so only planes can hit them back or mortars who have to move out of their spawn (so no longer safe). SO what will really happen is they both camp the safe zone (what goes on right now)
Invasion it would be worth while to pick them off in a team play sense, but not worth it points wise, (what people really care about.) Why go for 60 points when you can drop bombs on objective… for 400-1k points. It is also with the current planes, REALLY german sided (no one really runs planes outside of the A-20.)
If they just become easy to pick off, people switch and ignore mortar and play radio. That’s the big issue, ONE will always be the better long range area denial. Right now it’s the mortar because they can rake in kill streaks easily and safely, and doesn’t displace so most players keep running in cause they dont know what Gaufugagen 42.
BS i have seen worse with a P 4 sitting in the black zone with a clear line of sight on spawn on D-Day.
As long as I get my participation trophy, I’m fine either way
Panzer 4, alright spawn a sherman Jumbo, nothing it does will penetrate the front of a Sherman, not even turret shots where you can retaliate in killing all their gunners. Or Lob Piats. Usually the highest kill count in invasion goes to mortars. You’re only dealing with 30 or 50mm of front armor with how they have to be positioned to be on the top of the hill firing down.
D-day there is so many solutions, Engineers could build AT, Sherman Jumbo, Planes,Bombers,Ect.
you mean the 37mm AT? when a sherman’s 75mm did fuck all to it.
I am not sure if my suggestion can solve this problem.
But since a mortar squad always goes with an engineer for the unlimited ammo from the crate, I would recommend the devs to delete the “crate recovery feature”. So instead of having infinite crates, the maximum crates are just 3. Moreover, it also does make sense if mortar consumes more ammo in the crate than regular rifle ammo. So instead of shooting approx. 50-60 mortars per crate, it should be just down to 20 mortars and max. 3 crates.
