Remove killcam or at the very least adjust it

Yeah, I agree, at the moment the killcam is just waaaayyyy too much. There’s no good reason why you should be shown the EXACT position of the player who just killed you in a game like this. Especially in this game where you can literally switch to another player in order to get revenge. That’s just purely immersion-breaking and it’s just overkill.

Now I understand the intention may be to reduce camping, but this is a WW2 game with snipers and various classes that are meant for camping. You can’t encourage camping by giving us these specific classes, but then just expose our position to the next player we kill. Stop holding our damn hands and let us use our senses. It’s not that hard to determine where you may have been shot from if you actually use your brain and don’t expect hand-holding. Heck, I do that all the time in RS2: Vietnam.

That game literally does not show you where you just got shot from. And the cam follows the player model’s head whenever they fall and die. If you can pinpoint where you got shot from in a game like that, then you can also determine the same thing in this game if you use your brain a bit. Heck, they don’t even need to remove this feature entirely. They could go half and half as others suggested, and just point you to the direction which you got shot from. You don’t need to be shown the exact position of the person that just shot you. That’s just ridiculous and unnecessary.

Alternatively you could make it that for specifically the sniper squad soldier, there is no killcam (for its passive)

But at that point we’re playing a WW2 themed hero shooter…

The devs should just try and meet half way. I think the killcam should stay and face in the direction of the player who killed you, but not highlight the player who’s killed you. That way people have a chance to combat campers and snipers to a degree.

People also need to keep in mind that bipod functionality was pretty much confirmed, and camping will most certainly be an issue once people can plop an LMG down and slaughter entire squads worth of enemies. You can make every possible argument about realism and immersion, but Enlisted is still a video game at the end of the day.

But, we can already… do… that?
Engineers exist too!

The MGs already fire tracer rounds. What more do you need to spot those?
And snipers are supposed to stay stealthy.

Not to mention, the removal of a killcam would make sniper v sniper gameplay way more fun.

Right now it’s: You killed me, I know where you are now, I kill you… vice versa

Also snipers aren’t that powerful in game because there’s SO much cover

You know what I mean. People who are Gunners will be able to place down their LMG’s almost anywhere (ground, windows, sandbags, rooftops, etc) and have an insane reduction of recoil, which is fine because that’s how the mechanic works. But as of now, you’re still required to go prone with an LMG just to get the intended recoil reduction.

Tbh if you’re complaining about camping this game isn’t for you

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Like back in WW2 were they complaining about the enemy camping?? “Hanz this is zuch bullcrap!! Das noob is camping with the DP-28 down this lane and keeps killing me!!”.
Jokes aside tho, these types of games are trying to replicate and simulate real-life combat from these very real wars. And methods like “camping” are smart tactical moves that were used to fight off the enemy. If camping is something that you’re going to complain about in a shooter, then just go back to playing casual COD bc this game isn’t for you.

65-70% of the people I encounter don’t camp. They’re actually playing the objective and cooperating with each other, those players are actually useful and respectable to play with or against.

Now, camping isn’t even a ginormous issue with Enlisted right now, but I certainly don’t want it to be in the future. I’d like to devs to meet half way with the request here for the killcam to try keep everyone happy.

I’m all for them adding two modes like AB and RB in Warthunder.

Honestly same here. I’d really love for us to have the option to have a more hardcore version of the game to play, while also still retaining the more casual version for those who prefer that.

I for one do not want to see assaulters become the only class ever used.

Sniping is already easy enough to do, my sniper squad is my highest level and always has a field day on certain points.

Are you sure you aren’t playing against newbies and/or bots only?
I have tried sniping many times and it just doesn’t work as you can instantly counter it by just respawning and going after the camper.

Let there be sneeky people lying in bushes.
In a practical sense, they won’t get that many kills as their map coverage is limited. Because they don’t move, they are much more dependant on players walking into their line of sight anyways.

Bots are more of a threat with their xray vision when you’re lying in a bush than players ever are. If you get overrun easily, you’re too far forward of your teammates.

Yup honestly same here. For the most part I don’t encounter campers at all. But that’s something that could inevitably change as people start to learn how to best use their roles. For instance, with MG Gunners and Snipers. Which is okay in my opinion since that’s how you’re SUPPOSED to use those roles.

But I do think that the half way suggestion that’s been mentioned would be a nice compromise to combat annoying campers if they ever exist at all in this game. Bc the way I see it, this game isn’t like other casual shooters. Here it does matter if you’re shot or not since you can’t just sit down for a bit and wait for all your health to regen. You do have to manually heal yourself and once your heals are gone, they’re gone. So I do think that’s the advantage of the average player. They have plenty of chances to combat campers here.
Whether if they wear down the camper’s health supplies, or counter their camping by hunting them down and just killing them.

Honestly tho, I think people are making camping in this game a much bigger issue than it’d be in reality. Bc this is a borderline hardcore shooter. While yes there are very arcadey elements such as health perks that increase your health, or damage upgrades that increase your damage. This is a more realistic shooter at the end of the day, so it’s not like these campers are invincible. You just need to use your brain a bit to find where they are and use tactics to your advantage. But from the sounds of it, people just want the victory handed to them on a silver platter by the use of exact location kill cams.

I agree that “camping” should happen, but it’s definitely not killcams that are preventing it from being widespread. Something about how battles are laid out in general just makes it so that players never cover eachother.

In Normandy I was pulling a panzerfaust on a Sherman, and despite there being 2 friendly squads right next to me, neither of them could stop 1 rando running past them to gun me down with an SMG in the process.

Yeah I couldn’t have said it better. The pacing of Enlisted’s gameplay is actually kind of good right now. While I do expect significant switch ups in the future, I just don’t want matches to consist of half the players sitting in the back waiting to claim easy kills while players with aggressive playstyles (myself) are torn to shreds while trying to play the objective. I’m not even remotely bad at Enlisted. At the end of every match, I’m at the top 3 (often 1st) on the leaderboard (not bragging, just trying to convey that I understand the game).

Ideally, I want just about every match to consist of players giving it their all. Close games (whether you win or lose) are arguably the most fun experiences to have.

I mainly get upset with killcams when I myself am able to easily abuse it. Grabbing a sniper after I die for instance.

You won’t get close games for a while as the actual player count in games right now is very low/one sided.
