Battlefield 2042 has been announced that the next update will be the last.
I have been a follower of this franchise since Battlefield 1942, I played Vietnam, Modern combat, Heroes and minor titles like P4F without fail, but 2042 was the only title I did not play.
So, 2042, which started later than Enlisted, died before Enlisted.
And Enlisted has survived all these years with the community saying it is dying, dying, dying…
When will it die?
My guess is that the game will live another 10 years.
Perhaps it will land again on Steam with a compelling PVE mode… and become a universally played long-lived title like WT!!
This game does not die like a zombie!
Im still going to be very salty because I had to wait a long time for the WW 2 reboot to come around…and they barely did much with it…probably have to wait another 20 years for a WW2 crack (if they even get their shit together and get the next one right)
Battlefield 3 ~ Battlefield 1 was the golden age for me.
And Battlefield 5 was a game that could have been really good. In fact, there were countless moments that felt like gems to play. But EA steered the ship wrong so many times, it went astray, and then they abandoned the game. And 2042 suffered the same fate.
Enlisted still seems to have its share of challenges, big and small, but at least Darkflow’s dedication to updating it reassures me.
Well, I sometimes wonder if their efforts are directed at adding zombies to the game instead of solving neglected bugs…but the zombie mode was fun, so I guess it’s okay.
I played Batelfield 1 for many hours. I even have an Easter Egg revolver. But batelfield 5 killed all my faith in the good. 2042 is just as miserable. No, it’s even more miserable. I hope EA closes, they will become bankrupt, every single one of them will be mired in debt. For all those favorite games they killed.
This is where, as a gamer, I have changed. Battlfield is too eager to move onto the next battlefield. I loved BF 1942, BF 2,3,4,1,5…yes even 5…they had so many good things they they didnt pursue.
these days, I want a game like Warthunder that just keeps going and going and going. Forever added too and you can keep coming back,
My hope for enlisted.
Battlefield is lucky to last 2 years now before developmant is canned, and all that progress and time spent, is no longer relevant
Game had a lot of potential, tank on tank fights were among my favorites in the franchise, if they would expand on it but nah they had to cut it short and make crappy sequel…
