Quitting battle penalty (edit)

I’d like to suggest just getting rid of the penalty for quitting battle early, instead of removing all of your earned XP in battle, how about getting rid of this BS.

(I’ve had a read of all the comments, processed it and changed my opinion slightly)

I was playing in a game recently, I’d been in the match for over 20 minutes, I was top of our team, then my wife needed my help and I had no option but to leave the game. To have all of my experience taken away is really frustrating as I, like a lot of people have to respond to real life events that are beyond their control.

On the other hand I have been in division matches with other people where they wanted to quit at the beginning of the match simply because they didn’t like the game or mode type.

With this in mind the person that wants to continue his game but can’t is penalised, and the person who just can’t be bothered to play a match basically receives no penalty at all.

It does my box in when I’ve tried really hard then have to quit, I didn’t want to quit in the first place but I had to. Kind of punished for having a life

Just a suggestion.

Only if I never have to play skirmish again.

maybe dont punish anyone for leaving and focus on why the f***k they are leaving in the first place?

I would just shut the game off at that point. You want me to sit there for 5 minutes after getting stuck in a bot fest? Hell no. I wont remain in a losing shit match regardless what punishment is imposed. Easier to stop playing than not have fun in a game I pay for

Quitters are annoying but i doubt a further punishment than getting reduced points is suitable here. Some ppl leave for whatever reason, i don’t think that should extensively punished. Its a game, forcing ppl to stay because they have to fear extensive punishment would be not so smart.

I don’t like it as well when half my team quits but it is like it is.

I have another suggestion.

Taking all the XP away is a good start, on top of that there could be a 15 minute penalty before entering a new game.

So it should be a combination of loosing all the XP from that game and on top of that 15 min cooldown before entering a new game.

I also have to respond to normal day activities and on top of that I suffer from IBD.

Still, if someone leaves in the middle of the game that should “Burn” because its not fair for other people playing, if you know you might be too busy to play then dont play at all, get your other things in order first. Thats what I do?

It really ruins the game for many other people involved.

Also, there sould be a system where someone can choose to enter the game in the middle of the fight if the game has lost some players due to desertion. These players should get 1,5 times points from everything they do.

This would keep the games full of players and the system stable, also if someone would desert some other player could replace them automatically.

  • I Would gladly pick up games with higher XP gaining system if that was made an option,.

Basically what I am suggesting is a combination of carrot and a stick.

You enter a game that is already on and the situation might be dire? - Thats a “Carrot” you get 1,5 times all the points that you make because you picked up a game that has been already running. Bravery pays.

You exit a game due to reason what ever, rage-quitting, you have something else to do/ Your boss might be standing right next to you in the office?

  • Thats a stick.

All XP gone and 15 minutes of “cooldown”.

For rage quitters “cooldown” is a good idea and gives them a break in order to have a coffee and chill out. For the office clerk it is a good time to think if unemployment would be a better tie and place to play videogames endlessly without any disturbance?

Some company bosses would probably agree with this perspective.

In a game where you cant even choose the map / mode in matchmake you want to play people shouldnt be punished at all for leaving.

This.

There are reasons why I quit matches

  1. Connection refused or disconnected. Will you punish me for having a bad ISP now? or when Gaijin’s server refuse to work?
  2. The team is incompetent. Self explanatory, I don’t like carrying and there’s no fun with bad players. Can you really blame for quitting because there’s no incentive to play with noobs?
  3. I hate map/game mode. No way of choosing my game mode? ofc I’m going to quit a map that I hate
  4. Real life doesn’t stop.

Instead of quitting battle penalty, why not a match complete bonus?

If you leave you punish your team but you dont want to be punished yourself.
Is our community split into 2 classes of human beings/players?

Quite many times if I stay I also get punished by my own team that is incapable to do simpliest tasks.
Differency is that by leaving my suffering is significantly less lasting.

Sorry I had to sh@t . ( Based on true events)

Difference is if you leave instand you assume that your team is “incapable to do simpliest tasks”, but you dont know for sure.
If you stay it might be this case or you get surprised how ultra mega super your team is and rolls all over the enemies.

But not always, if you leave you always punish your team. :upside_down_face:

You still dont realized who force lots of mid-quitting players.

There’s TONS OF BUGS that still yet to be fixed.
And many poor matchmaking matches, that definitely waste time if you insist playing that match.

It’s about COMPENSATE those who still left in match. Not punishment!!!

So that you want to punish more than HALF of this game’s players???
What’s wrong with your mind? And your courage to do this?

And WOW, are you new to FPS games?
Let alone WT’s style matchmaking is fit for this game?

Dont you see BF2042 that dosent even have a room/server browser than previous BFs get tons of complains?
The traditional FPS is, you can join whatever you like, leave whenever you want. The balance is managed automatically by game. And can be manually managed by Mods.
Enlisted still not even able to balance the player count between two sides.

Then I most likely leave for another reason such as conquest is shit, which is another thing I cannot choose and matchmaker most likely fills my spot with another victim of conquest.

If I leave due to teammates being incapable of doing simpliest tasks then Ive already spent some time ingame and come to conclusion Its pointless to suffer in a game thats supposed to be fun.

You want to introduce more penalties yet the matchmaking is fundamentally broken.

  • Bot matches (most of your team being AI soldiers).

  • Region Selector is broken and throws me into Europoor matches especially when I only have North America selected (leaving those matches instantly).

  • Conquest unfortunately still exists and isn’t worth playing due to reduced XP on average.

How about no. Quitting the match and forfeiting your XP is more than enough, this is not a competitive e-sports shooter.

My idea is as follows.
First desertion of the day: No penalty(maybe they had lag, or had something IRL.
For every subsequent desertion of the day, the penalty in XP increases by 20% until it reaches -100% XP. The next day this resets to zero.
No penalty for desertion if the player has an active XP booster.
Banning people in any way could mess with the playerbase which is already fragile.

also add bonus for people who get a high place even if they lose

I Agree with the former one.

Loosing team top 3 players should get more XP and score because it is typically clearly not their fault that the rest of the team sucks or is nothing but brainless bots that can do only one thing correctly:

Run into enemy fire head high and DIE like in the WWI.

1:st Desertion of the day should be free of penalty and after that, ALL XP from that game gone and some cooldown time period before joining the next one.

This.
Leavers are a symptom, not the illness itself.

The reason why most of the people tend to leave is one of the two:
Either you get matched in maps/modes you don’t want to play cause of the lack of a map/mode filtering setting;
Or the teams are too imbalanced cause of a lack of a proper MMR/rating system.
