Question for people who want malfunctions back [survey]

If you want malfunctions back, do you want them only in form of a longer reload (so almost like it was before OBT) or also malfunctions that can occur during shooting (jams)?
Do you prefer RNG based malfunctions or you would like to have some control over them?
If you don’t like the idea of malfunctions during shooting, would you be ok with them if you would have some control over them?
[Edit] Should malfunction chance be affected by the weapon model? (For example AK47 would have lower malfunction chance than M16).

This post is for gathering informations. Answers like “malfunctions are shit” and similar that don’t answer the questions nor discuse them will be flagged by me as off topic.

Read this before writing that you don’t want malfunctions:

There is a cuisine royal video with an stg jamming on YouTube. Something like that at rare occasions would be great to see.

I wish it only as an option for custom hardcore matches.

And probably more malfunctions

  • if weapon is suspect to overheat, or
  • if I jumped too big with it so it landed in mud (animations, please  ), or
  • jam the reload more often if I got shot/hit by grenade and I am reloading in a concussed state.

And things like that.

Least infuriating malfunction during shooting would be if it happens only when targeting someone far away, not in close combat. And not often even then.

RNG for all (and not only for BAs).

Yes, bit you didn’t answer the questions :stuck_out_tongue:

So RNG based longer reload.

Also jams while shooting?

Oh, sorry man, my bad.

I would take reload, even when sometimes can happen when you are shooting, but that should be minimal imo, i want to fire with my Breda 30 more than once.

So malfunctions based on the players actions?

Maybe if you are firing your weapon too much it can have malfunction, like if you would MG 34, dumped one mag really fast, and when you would have second mag, it would have some % of malfunction because it was overheated from previous one.

That’s literaly the idea I have in my head XD
I’m glad that you guys think similarly.

Yes, if you swim with it, try to hide in mud, jump out the second floor, knock out the third German and the fourth window etc, then reload jam may happen. If you’re near to freeze to death after swimming, ran your soul out, almost dead or just can’t even see straight because the last grenade was too nearby then it could be triggered by your inabilities.

If you overuse the weapon shooting 24/7, both reload and shooting issues may happen.
Depending on the weapon level perhaps. I’d be happy if random shooting issues would not happen at all or only if the enemy is far away.

And all the above optional. For my casual killing spree, no malfuctions please.

I edited additional question in the OP.

How about no.

We already have a lot of RNG with shot deviation to a point it’s frustrating to fire guns at 50 meters and watch them miss when they should be accurate over much longer distances.

The last thing we need is RNG weapon malfunction. RNG is not fun and it never will be.

I should have placed it in the OP to be honest.
It’s my mistake so I won’t flag (even though I should).

  • 1 from me. Chances of misfire and other shit should decrease with wep improvements.

What do you mean?

If you improve your rifle to max stars, its brand new, well taken care of and so on. Chances of jamming are lower then with basic unimproved one.

I’m always in favour of my games getting closer to simulation. Yes bring those in, as long as they aren’t crippling the game.

For example:

  • needing to switch lmg barrels when they become too hot or risk breaking them.
  • struggling from time to time to reload your firearm (battles are stressful)
  • weapon jams? As long as it doesn’t happen every magazine, maybe after an extended use?
