Quality of life / logical update suggestions

Hello id like to start this topic to collect some ideas for some new Quality of life updates:

1.) Combine similar weapons/vehicles in the research tree

I do understand that as an f2p/game developer you need to give the customer something to grind so he spends his time with your game and doesnt gets bored but having to research the same weapon/vehicle over and over again especially like in the German research tree only achieves the opposite so just combine them MP38 → MP40 as an example the MP40 just fires 10 bullets more and has 0,01 more dmg yet its listed as a whole different weapon

2.) Weapon diversification

There are so many different weapons in this game yet most of them feel the same

3.) Adjust weapon categories

Please adjust the weapon categories i know many people will hate me for this but just make the StG´s to Assault Rifles and the FG´s to machine guns aswell as that Soviet Gold Order Gorov LMG which is labelled as an Assault Rifle just to name a a few

4.) Add counter vehicles

Please add BR5 vehicles that can actually penetrate there opposition as an example add Pershing Tank for allies to be able to counter the King Tiger and Chi-Ha Kai Tanks for the Japanese to counter Shermans

5.) Cut that “every prototype until 1945 is allowed in the game”

You basicly gave the Soviets as an example the Fedorov Avtomat which is an WW1 AK47 like 5 WW2 AK47 versions and 1 WW2 RPD machine gun while the only “real” counterpart for the allies is the T20E1 which is an Gold Order weapon only
by that logic WHERE IS MY P-1000 LANDKREUZER RATTE?!

6.) Make bots smart again

I think this doesnt need an explanation

7.) Adjust explosives

Please adjust the explosion values of different explosives/bombs as an example the only difference between a 50KG and a 100KG bomb is just 2 metres explosion radius while the RMN-50 grenade launcher fires 50KG bombs even though its an 50mm gun not an 152mm besides that there is no reason to play the frag grenades instead of the impact grenades

8.) Balance the maps / map rotation

Please balance the maps / map rotation like its one thing to have 1 out of 5 games on an unbalanced map but having to endure that same BS 5 out of 5 games is just mental torture

Why would you use frag grenades after you unlocked impact grenades?
Impact grenades are just like frag grenades in every aspect except that they dont have an timer
therefore making frag grenades unnecessary to equip after unlocking impact ones

I literally just told you why

ALL impact explosives, be they impact nades, rifle nades, or Japan’s mine stick, are extremely unreliable. Sometimes when you throw it into a crowd, you’ll get a couple kills. Sometimes you get none. It’s a gamble! A game of chance!
Fragmentation grenades on the other hand? Stable. Consistent. Usable. They will work 100% of the time and will never let you down. You WILL kill what you throw it at so long as they are in the death radius when it goes off

all explosives in the game are unreliable as i noted on point 7 dynamite as an example sometimes destroys a tank when thrown on top of the vehicle and other times just nothing happenes at all eventhough you did throw it on the same position as before where you got a kill
same with frag/impact grenades,bombs,rockets,HE from tanks etc

Actually, there is a large difference between frags and impacts. For their instantaneous fuse, impacts trade off with damage (75 for frags vs 25 for impacts) and range (10 vs 8 respectively). In gameplay, you can chuck a frag through a window and be sure it will clear the whole room, while with impacts you have to be practically on target to kill enemies.

5 seconds is enough for anyone to rush around the corner unless you were dueling it out beyond grenade range anyways.

Sure, it’s no problem when noone’s trying to rush you - but any weapon is decent when you’re not being shot at.

Sounds like you should be shooting them and not trying to cook a nade if they’re just walking around the corner and blasting your rear

Look it’s not my problem if you don’t know when or how to use a regular frag grenade. You may need to use impacts for the instantaneous gratification of them, but not all of us are handicapped in such a way

They wont because they screwed up from the start.
Bar is lmg but feodorv is assault weapon ?!! It too late to change this 3 years old set up.

Because they chose the laziest way possible to impelement proper gunplay.
Rather than having proper recoil and gunsway, they added bloom effect( a.k.a dispersion)
And tweaked damage values of weapons coutless times until some weapons to have no similartiy of their real life counterparts’ performances

That ship has sailed long ago so good luck with that

Wrong conclusion.
They NEVER designed a smart ai to begin with.
Bots back then were also stupid, were sticking to everything and pathfinding was garbage.they still are.
Only thing they did was decreasing aimbot and reaction accuracy down to retardity level.

Maps are design nightmare. All of them designed to be cqc.
You dont need proper map rotation. You need to redesign most of it.

There is no logic here because df doesnt think he just acts

Yeah, the distance damage drop off and dispersion thing often have me shaking my head.

The distance damage drop off is ridiculous. All full-powered rifle cartridges (what basically every small arm other than submachine guns were using in WWII) from the .303 British to the 8mm Mauser were considered “effective” (lethality + hit probability) to anywhere from 600 to 750 meters. They were LETHAL out to like 2000 meters. Hell, the “effective” threshold for something like an MG34/42 on its sophisticated tripod mount WAS 2,000 meters.

M2 Ball (the round fired by the M1 Garand) is highly velocity dependent with a bit lighter projectile (150gr) than similar rounds of the era, and it still retained 50% of it’s muzzle velocity/energy at 800 YARDS. .303 British and 8mm Mauser hold more like 70% of theirs at the same distance. The idea that you’re hitting anybody with any of these full-powered rifle rounds at any of the frankly short engagement distances in this game (even the ones it calls “long range kills”) and they’re shrugging it off is absurd. You can drive any tank in the game with the coaxial machine gun in one of these calibers and have to hit a guy multiple times to kill him, as he continues his run across your field of fire without even breaking stride.

The dispersion is more ridiculous. Simply put, this is not how guns work. If they want to simulate sway, suppression, panic, poor trigger control, or whatever, there are ways to do that. But when you can have your sights on center mass on a guy no further away than than across a room (or less), and the bulllets dance around him, that’s insane. Bullets don’t have random number generators attached to them.

This isn’t gunplay at all. This is some silly RPG-tier faggotry. In this game we aren’t shooting at the enemy. We’re casting “bullet spells” at them that have a calculated, then randomized chance to hit, and take away a certain number of “hit points” from the target.

This type of mindset is what’s wrong with this game not everything has to be so fast-paced

He hasn’t been from Moscow misery enough yet when the campaigns were still a thing and I had to deal with PPSH in those rooms

If you believe encounters when is the Germans gonna get their own planes which they can rocket spam people into oblivion with or own RMN 50 which they can keep mass suicide and give to the entire team and give to an engineer squad and reload infinitely with

that weapon is nasty and it’s really good at what it does and yet for some reason half this forum doesn’t even understand how powerful the allies are for some reason

Seriously the A2 is INCREDIBLE. You can abuse slow auto to make long range shots, and the fast auto is good enough to spray and pray your heart out and kill everyone

Great for assault scenarios which this game has basically turned into for the allies
