PRO TIPS: How to use mines

Could you explain to me how/if flamethrowers damage tanks?

I saw a passing mention of it here only once out of about 100 topics I have read so far. In game I ignored a guy flamethrowering me out of contempt just wasting his teammates as they were running up a hill because I thought it was only for psychological affect, then I exploded with no grenade indicator.

It SEEMS like I have killed a couple tanks with just flamethrowers but with no hit markers and the chaotic nature of the game its hard to tell. I absolutely love harrasing tankers with it though, best thing in the game is the flamethrower.

Put 3 around the bomb when you set it in Tunisia. Thank me later too

As far as all my games so far went, fire just disables engines. Both from molotovs and Flametrowers.

If, they are placed /fired on the engine deck/vents.

You can also do this
Place Anti Tank mine just on the side of the tank
Shoot the Mine with the current soldier ( Kamikaze )
Or you can shoot it with other soldier and you will take no damage from the mine ! ( smart )

Nope, they very love roads. Therefore, mines on the road always bring income

If you see a tank tunnel visioned on a target, sneak up to it and place a mine down directly behind it. Wait until the timer finishes/mine arms itself and do one of two things:

  1. Walk around the tank and chuck a smoke grenade in front of it/on top of its hull.
  2. Switch to a soldier you don’t mind losing and feign an attack by either priming a grenade throw animation where the tank is looking or jump around erratically shooting your firearm at the periscope/barrel of the tank.

More often than not, the tank will get confused/spooked and reverse right onto the mine you previously placed. Happy hunting!

All my German squads on Normandy are fully equipped with mines, half AT and half AP. My experience over the last few months suggests that AP mines are only useful when you place then inside the entrance to bunkers, where CAS/art won’t wipe them out; a well-placed AP may just stop that lone M2 soldier from taking the bunker while your team is respawning.

AT mines are a lot more useful. Since I often need to use explosive packs to deal with infantry swarms and clear capture points, I often find myself next to a tank without explosives. Having an AT mine in hand allows my soldier to deal with the tank without explosives. Even if the mine is not a direct kill, it will disable the tracks or the engine.

What is your experience in using AT mines against infantry? Is it effective? So far I have been told they can be detonated by being shot, I assume that explosions do so as well. I dont have the in game resources to be buying mines in enough number to test properly and Im hesitant to buy mine s when I can pull 3 weapons from the lottery instead.

I just came back here to thank you for that tip.

Tried it today and it was beautiful. I can only imagine The face of that poor player when Has whole squad blew up.

I completely understand the frustration, but at the same time I gotta say constantly dodging 6+ depatcks from a single squad gets a bit stale after a while, especially if they can blow up even later tanks with exact same efficiency as a Pz. II or Puma.

Camping tanks can be a terrible pain in the ass, but on the other hand rolling into the enemies practically guarantees you’re gonna be blown up in a single explosive you can’t even dodge (if it’s someone who knows how to cook a nade) and there is no reason for players to not carry a detpack instead of 'nades or molotovs. I wish they made detpacks more like C4 in other games.

glad it was worth the try :stuck_out_tongue:

from now on. never! never destroy a enemy spawn point. :stuck_out_tongue:

this way, you get xp, the spawn point destroyed and a huge smile on your face

Honestly it doesn’t usually work, since it basically becomes a waiting game where you wait for a minute just for two or three soldiers to show up, assuming you don’t get killed first. The opportunity cost is too great, since in that time you could have killed a lot more enemies just by pushing. It is much better to just throw explosives at enemy squads.
