Preparation for the "Scorching Rays" update

well said

I hope so

would work too
I actually use the commander more often, especially for mowing down infantry with MGs

same here
or they could allow Tanker I-II to use high BR tanks as well

I hope the shotgun will be strong enough. Few years ago those nerfs made these toys unusable for a while.

@MajorMcDonalds any chance of implementing a map preference system? Do devs consider it or low on their prio list? When I’m ready to join any, and in 2 days out of 6 matches 5 is in Pacific, however much I like that place I’d be really happy to be able to select a “skip Pacific if possible, prefer Tunisia or Moscow” in 3 clicks. So MM knows my current mindset.

Why they STILL have not added a “Lobby Text Chat” (to coordinate things pre-battle → i.e. loadout, etc.) and a “Friends/Group Battle Text Chat” (i.e. one in addition to the existing team text chat, so we can actually tell our friends/grouped up players things specifically and do not have to spam the “public” team text chat) is incomprehensible to me. Even more so as they also added the random group thing, but then gave us no way to actually communicate with the people in the groups!

I honestly rather see those two text chat options finally being added, since they are something essential to have (communication is key!) than things like ray tracing or other additions. I really think we need this badly: An INGAME means to communicate in the lobby & to our group in battle!

Is that mean, what I think (and asked so many times) that chest now will become faction specific? Please say that - yes.

That would only work if you know what battle awaits you, or not? I don’t even know which faction I play and whether in defender or attacker role - even on the loading screen…

But otherwise I agree with all the rest.

Meant this more for friends that are grouped up and, in case a random goup stays together after a battle (not sure if that is the case or if random groups actually get disbanded after every battle and then remade - never tried that “random group” option).

Just having one cannon won’t do. His cannon shells can only penetrate the early round-shaped cast hull of the Sherman model. But anyone starting from the M4 can’t penetrate it. This shows that he is even worse than the Panzer IV model. What’s the point of making it longer? The trajectory is straight, but it can’t penetrate the body as effectively as the 50mm. It can only hit the weak points of the Sherman, just like how the IS-2 hits the face of the Tiger II.

“While operating the Chi-Nu, could you easily penetrate a Sherman’s armor?”

Well the standard Chi-Nu no its hard.

At this point you may wanna change the update name from scorching rays to how we are planning to murder majority of people’s stuff because we don’t understand what optimization is for maps or in general for majority of things.

So does this mean silver chests will come back upon this update too?

Well finally at least part of tanks get’s it. Hope that’s one day all of them would be controllable.

Maybe I’m just completely wrong and am not remembering things right, but the chi-nu aphe should penn most of the front on a sherman (not including the jumbo) as sherman frontal armor is in the 50s-60s.

You need to account for the angle and a few other factors, it would be like saying the T-34 only has 45mm armour.

Not forgetting. Most Sherman’s in game at most engagements will have sub 100mm equivalents. Less than the penn of chi-nu. Beyond that, there’s still the turret you can always pretty easily get through.

Shermans have about 90 to 100mm of armor roughly in the front but the chi nu gun only has that 100mm of pen on a flat and unangled surface at point blank. So realisticly the chi nu APHE can often be stoped by large parts of the front armor on a sherman.

If you had allowed the option to choose the battlefield and game type, maybe you wouldn’t have so many Desertion related issues.
