As we all know, within span of one year, Gaijin has managed to publish more than 3 new campaigns with each one of them being focused on different time period of the Second World War. With these frequent updates regarding campaigns, I have decided to come with a suggestion.
It is not a secret that majority of modern WW2 game developers are overlooking one of medium-significant campaigns of the war, which is the Invasion of Poland in 1939. This invasion was one of first challenges for the German Wehrmacht, as they saw minimal combat experience until that point. For first time (with exception of Spanish Civil War), German tanks, aircrafts, artillery and most importantly soldiers tasted the horrors of the war for first time.
I believe that if Polish Campaign was added into Enlisted, it would have no other than positive feedbacks, as there are none popular games that include this part of the war. Most importantly, there would be huge scale of unit types. On German side, from early-stylish infantry to tank companies with earliest tanks (Pz. I, Pz. II, Pz. 38 (t) ). Meanwhile Polish side mayhaps would be able to even experience mobile-anti tank cavalry (I do not like that idea but it would be cool) and Polish tanks such as famous 7TP tank. From the perspective of the air force, Luftwaffe would include famous Stuka while Polish side would be equipped with PZL aircrafts.
There would be also good amount of suggestions for premium units for both sides, such as Slovak Infantry which participated directly in invasion.
In other words, the Polish Campaign of 1939 has more potential than it seems.
Italy won the last major cavalry engagement against Russia during the war.
Except it was so brutal that a German advisor said “we must never do this again”
Yes but there was also another succesfull major cavalry charge.
It happened in 1 March 1945, when 1st Warsaw Independent Cavalry Brigade used the moment of suprise and charged German positions during battle of Żeńsko in Pomerania.
I’m guessing there will be a Winter War and invasion of France as super “Early” parts of the war (recognizing ofc that the Winter War was not technically part of WW2). They introduced the Arisaka rifle early on in a Soviet Moscow premium squad and have like wise introduced French and Finnish weapons throughout the game cycle as perhaps a sort of test?. To me, it also makes sense because it would satisfy the Eastern Front And Western Front enthusiasts alike :).
Are you aware, that nothing like that hapened?
Whole mith about polish cavalary charged into tanks come from italian journalist, who saw effect of battle near town Krojanty- a lot of dead horses and sabers next to parked tanks and armoured vehicles. In reality poles charged infantry, but were ambushed in nearby forest by thats tanks and vehicles, and retreat in full canter was not possible.
