100% why I dont pick this perk at all. either all your units have it, or it will mess you up.
Aside from the FG-42 engineer tactic, thereās absolutely no reason for you to deck out your engineer with combat oriented skills, since itās a waste of time, because thereās better classes for that,.
⦠What?
Youāre saying a class that has access to rifles, and by extension, select-fire and automatic rifles, backpacks and the ability to build a source of almost-unlimited ammo-
Isnāt good enough for combat?
⦠Well now. I can understand why the majority of the player base donāt recognize the worth of engineers. And Iām glad to know youāre also a symptom of it.
most people dont do much more enginnering than a rally point and the occasional ammo bag(me included), for such people the bonus build speed is much less useful than something like faster movement or faster medkit use
YES, every direct combat intended class performs better than a engineer and select-fire weapons arenāt a good justification since almost every soldier ca can use it, no exclusivity of weapons for the engineer to be justified to be used in combat.
Lol dude
Equip a trooper with a fg42 you will always rely on a eng to supply you
Have a eng with same gun, you have unlimited ammo forever.
Have a 6 eng squad with fg42s. You have the best squad in the game.
SMGs are phased out by automatic rifles.
Automatic rifles are practically LMGs in the hands of bots.
Between a squad of 7, with either 3 LMGs or 4 SMGs
Or a squad of 9 soldiers with automatic rifles
The difference in firepower is clear.
The fun bit is that riflemen are no different from engineers except they have the ability to equip rifle-grenades.
Can literally spend all the time in the world ordering your troops around while you make a rally.
