No there isnt unless pilot dies before bombs explode. So only those suiciders MIGHT kill own team members.

Its really easy to test, just drop bombs to cap zone where own defenders are and not even single one will die… but if there is even one enemy soldier near by, he will be smashed to thousand pieces

Second reminder in this thread, keep it civil please.

In squad mode add friendly fire to plane bombs … Not Mg’s or Cannons but only bombs and rockets. Also add penalties for friendly kills like they have in LF mode.

I dare say the situation will change for the better …

I wish a different idea to be implemented as friendly bombing then could be used by trolls against own team - they lock the team out of planes AND kill team in the critical moment.

How about calculating the damage done to own team, but instead of killing your own teammates, let the other team survive proportionally?

So e.g. if you inflict 1000 HP damage to team members and 600 to opponent, none of the opponents killed. If it’s the other way around then 400 HP worth damage is dealt to opponent, starting with the nearest guy in range of the bomb taking full damage required to kill him etc. In this case 60% of opponents would survive (assuming everyone at full health before).

Trolls are going to be trolls and yes it will happen. If it happens too much to the same player then they should be banned from flying and even eventually temp account banned or if necessary treated like a cheater and perma banned.

But adding FF to bombs and rockets would help the situation

Seriously, stop wanting to make your side better than the other. Its very obvious you’re biased as all hell for Germany. Comparing your starting tank to Allies end game tank. Complaining that you getting access to a bomber at start is weak while the allies don’t get one until level 18… And the worst offender is that the axis have 6x 250kg bombs on their level 18 bomber. Which not only have a larger explosive radius but is more than anything the allies can carry. You just want Germany to stomp everyone and come here thinking the devs are going to listen.

Negative xp for teamkilling, lock bombers to higher levels. The ones grinding xp would not be teamkilling for fun.

Friendly fire along with no one getting bomber planes until level 18 would be nice. Add in a reduction of max bomb size to 50kg and we would be getting somewhere in the right direction.

And I have definitely been killed by a teammates bombs in squads mode.

Then there must currently be a bug in squads mode. As above I have definitely been killed by teammates bombs, although not a common occurrence, but I have seen the ā€œYou were killed by teammate: blahā€ in squads mode a number of times.

I agree that bomb explosive radius should be toned down a bit. The number of times I have been keeping an eye out for bombers doing runs, even watched the bombs fall far away from my position, but still died is ridiculous.
Yes, they may be historically correct, but when the battlefield is’nt, small map size, specific zones etc it makes bombers feel very op.

to get it working you must die before the bombs go off

Planes in every other campaign except normandy are not OP.

I would like to see a take cover mechanic for buildings lying down and trenches to reduce damage as it would be a fun mechanic.

I have footage of shooting down planes with machine guns and rifles so if you’re a good shot it is possible. Thing is most people don’t try this.

The most reliable solution to an annoying bomber is to simply keep 1 fighter plane in your line up and if you see a bomber wreaking havoc the get your plane and deal with it. Bombers are pretty useless in a dogfight.

Too severe a nerf, no thanks. Bombers when used correctly play a key role.

  1. Killing tanks like camping jumbos
  2. Halting an enemy push on the objective.

The later is really key if you play Germany in normandy you need to break their momentum so you can give your team a chance to defend.

There are better suggestions above for fixes.

AA and FIGHTER can get BOMBER or ATTACKER Easily if team have good player. But can’t touch KAMIKAZE Pilot.

Tanks could still be taken out if you add some buffs against armor in the bombs. What we need is a reduction of blast radius to prevent mass infantry death to bombs. Momentum can be broken by tanks and mgs, planes aren’t essential for that.

High reward no risk, Id say thats quite OP, regardless of campaign.

Instead of making maps such a cluster fuck that planes with nuclear weapons cant kill you, how about nerf them nuclear weapons just that much that you actually have to know where to drop them in order to be effective with them ? Sounds slightly easier.

I think I saw video of plane harvesting kills with MG’s only just fine, should we remove the bombs now because it can be done ?

That never was a problem.
A) There is nothing on ground to counter the plane
B) Planes are flying tanks
C) There is nothing on ground to counter the plane
D) The cluster fuck bombs that kills entire team from cap point even if it misses by a mile.
E) There is nothing on ground to counter the plane
F) And Finally the most important problem - There is nothing on ground to counter the plane

Fix everything around before breaking something that isn’t broken maybe?
So let the planes fall after less hits, don’t die from bomb if inside building with no windows, behind wall or in trench, quarter the kill radius for prone stance, improve AA cannon turn rates when aiming up, limit somewhat the turn around times or the amount of possible rearms…

As this and AI are one of most active evergreen themes on forum, I expect that some changes will arrive with the next big bugfix. But it would be really good to have a feedback from developers. At least the prone stance reduced vulnerability is confirmed though no implementation details shared.

While I haven’t been able to counter too much planes with ground units, there is rumour that it’s possible. :slight_smile:

Im just going to throw out assumption that you probably are one of those who thought artillery wasnt broken either ? If so, we dont need to continue this any further.
Plane HP broken, Bomb blast radius broken, Cooldown way too low consider it broken.
But instead of fixing those we should rework maps entirely so the nuclear bombing may continue but people have dugouts to hide ? Yeah that sounds like a solution. Not.

Yeah and planes can do just fine with MG’s only. Can be done.
