@Veekay45 - Agreed, that also falls into that same category as the kill cam (the kids these days probably can not do it anymore without extensive handholding and everyone getting a price - makes me sick to be honest!)
Be much more seamless integrating directions more into soldier chatter than a kill cam. I can’t remember if enemy directions were in the sound files when I looked them through, certainly there were stuff like “look out sniper” (unused in the game ofc). But to your point it could be more so that ai would call out your rough direction after you missing them enough times or killing enough of the squad. (A compromise more so could be to do kill cam if the killer is within your field of vision on death within a reasonable distance.)
They seem to want to turn this game into yet another boring milsim clone.
@Naia88 - It is interesting you mention that, as that was one of the things I always missed back in War Thunder for example, i.e. if you pilot any plane with gunners that they would not shout out that there are incoming bandits. So yeah would make more sense if an AI spots you they would shout out and warn you.
Kill cam in Enlisted makes sense.
- it simulate the fact that you are indeed not alone in your squad.
I explain: when you fall dead, the soldiers (bots) beside you… well they saw it happen. They saw where the shot came from.
Since you effectively control the squad, it makes sense that this important information is conveyed to you.
Or more simply:
- stop camping and expect to stay safe in a big battle.
…
It could be fine in lone fighter mode, where you are in fact alone (not a squad). If it’s not the case already.
It was my first thing I proposed here on this forum, refreshing to see no idiots claiming that you complain of it because you must be a camper
In Heroes and Generals no kill cam was a perk.
Well that thing is quite buggy sometimes so removing it wouldnt affect to much
^ This.
Oh Im pretty sure mine dont see anything
- Give the HUD bearing element like in Squad/HLL
- Make it so that your squad member yell “sniper, bearing 264, 200 meters” after you’re dead
- Go hunt the sniper
No killcam but still killcam-ish enough. The perfect compromise.
Then this simulation is bad AF, because by that argument, those brainless bots should at least start shooting in direction they have “seen bullets coming from” instead of standing still. But regardless of the fact that everyone in Enlisted have tracer rounds, lets not forget that bots don’t even see anyone standing next to them.
I would much rather have them mark enemies in some way instead of telepathically revealing where enemy could be after one member gets killed.
Oh and thats weird, one member? WHY then my squad mates dont “tell me” of enemy location when one of them gets killed instead of me? Suddenly they’re becoming mute?
No one should ever get rewarded with few seconds of wallhack because of getting killed.
Also most of people leave useless bots in closed and safe spaces and fight with just one soldier. How does that simulate the fact we aren’t alone? When one gets killed and immediately switch to a new avatar and revenge kill the one who have shot him?
Kill cam is stupid and it should be at least optional.
The snipers didn’t make it unfun in heroes and generals; people are just too damned lazy to properly hunt down and eliminate a sniper without a kill cam.
Developers seem to be dumbing down all games these days for this reason!
would removal of kill cam be better for the game?
for snipers and tanks, yes.
for everyone else, no.
Yep I do that as well actually, leave the squad somewhere safe and move out as far as I can without them to fight (since they are pretty brainless and attract too much attention), then relocate the squad, once I have a new location for them to wait (sometimes I just dig them a nice foxhole with the shovel, if there is nothing else available), while I fight on. It is weird as many players throw away the lives of their squads, while I always try my best to preserve their lives and not have them just run a beeline to the objective, right into the line of fire of the enemy MGs…
@robihr - Like I said I do not like kill cams in general and I absolutely think that there should be no “handholding” mechanics like kill cams at all (the only exception would be games where you respawn at a base or where you do not get to respawn - and even then I switch those off if there is an option). I do play mostly infantry, and if I overlook a sniper because I did not take the time to really look around (hells we have BINOCULARS!) and I get killed it is my fault, same with tanks that get me - it means I overlooked it and have to pay the price. BUT I should not just get served the enemies head on a platter - and that is what those IMHO stupid kill cams are - because it was my fault that I got killed. If a tank or sniper or assault squad gets a good position or manages to flank me they did a good job and I and my team did a bad one. That is why I always mark enemies if I see fire coming from a position or see a suspicious guy running around far away since it is a good chance that it is a sniper.
People should have to actually LOOK around and use the bloody binoculars (!) to look around, and not charge forward headless and then get rewarded for being lazy or doing something stupid. I do not mind getting killed if the enemy made a better move, next time I will be more careful. I do not WANT nor NEED handlholding → the constant dumbing down of games and game mechanics should STOP for heaven sake!
Game would be better if people would learn how to mark, thats all what’s needed to solve such of an issue. If one cant take notice of big traced rounds flying around the map then its his problem.
Sometimes I feel like Im playing with some toddlers that need to be held by hand in everything
No kill cam!
It can take a long time to develop a good sniping position just to have it ruined by the first person you kill. It’s unreasonable for snipers to have to constantly move their position after each kill to preserve a hidden position. Time and effort! How much time and effort does it take for the person who gets a free kill cam shot? Zero!
Before kill cams were a thing, locating and hunting down a sniper was a skill that you needed to develop—not to mention the satisfaction (and fun) it was to hunt them down. Then kill cams came along and made everybody lazy and stupid—and completely ruined the sniper class. Just my opinion.
I could not agree more! It is not only snipers though (and every good sniper will change positions on their own after a few successful kills anyway) but concerns all others as well - no matter if it is infantry that manages to outflank your own guys or lay a good ambush position, paratroopers that manage to land in your rear or an MG/AT gun or tank that manages to find a good hidden spot to shoot from → and even all of them will not stay put forever but move on (as the battelfield moves on and the enemies move on and if you shoot too long from the same spot you will be spotted - EVEN WITHOUT kill cam!) Kill cams reward mistakes and being lazy - and that should not be the case.
Many gamers today seem to be so used to a “no or little effort” mentality and constant “handholding” - makes me sad as this has really grown completely out of proportion in the past decade IMHO
