These two would make great addition to Enlisted. Could work as premium squads since they were badly equiped. They could be rifleman squads equiped with bolt-action rifles.
OstTrupen were made up soldiers mostly from Soviet Union in German Army. They were formed at the end of 1942r and could appear in Stalingrad, Berlin or Normandy. It would add “new nationality” to Axis as they would speak Russian. Propably some small remake of current soviet voices would be enough. They would get access to Gewehr 98 rifles
Shtrafbat or Soviet Penal Battalions due to Stalin’s mercy can now repay their guilt with blood (their or their enemy’s). Formed after Soviet Panic in 1941 along with “No Step Back!” Order due to Soviet need to bring discipline and order to Army. They were sent to most dangerous places as they were despised by Soviets. They fought in all battles currently with presence of Soviets. They would be equiped with Mosin-Nagant Model 1891.
And change the balance, give each Soviet soldier 3 rounds from mosin, to player with a premium - shovel handle, and a player who bought a premium squad - a squad with one fighter armed with mosin.
(Maybe it’s an off topic, but my thought may not come later, so I’ll add here, I hope the developers will listen)
I"m all for historicity in the game, but I think this is heading in the wrong direction. Why would anyone want to play with poorly motivated, dubiously equipped and often of a dubious character set of individuals, which put them into a penal battalion/squad in the first place.
They would likely have penalites to their stats which means you wouldn’t hit jack at medium to long range, couldn’t run or jump as high as regular toops (given the malnutrition and the regular beatings they probably endured) etc…
I think you can see the point here.
I don’t mind elite squads from the SAS or the Brandenburgers, but penal troops - nah why would anyone want to play with the likes of the Direwangler Brigade - esp if you’re Polish if your player card is correct, after what these types of lads got up to in the Warsaw Uprising ?
Well that’s true, but they do have skill bonuses between the various troop ranks. I don’t have the new troops yet, so I’m not sure if they have better stat bonuses than regular troops.
That’s a flawed argument, because your’re conflating Germany as the aggressors in WWII with groups of actual criminals or other reprobates pressed into military service.
No is a similiar thing, and this dont stop us to play germany censored SS or russian nkvd, so there is no motive to not add OP request or take here in consideration
I don’t think it’s the same thing. It may be spliting hairs from your perspective but if you think about it a little rather than arguing for arguments sake you may come to the same conclusion.
I see what you mean. However, without going into the pedantics with it, I kind of assumed that most ppl would know the difference between an actual criminal or ppl who committed something that contravened military laws that would get them sent to a penal unit. The potential issue is that there were cases of political prisoners being pressed into penal battalions is probably the exception rather than the rule.
I am not killing anything, your emotive outbursts seem to cloud your reading, I am merely expressing an opinion to which everyone is entitled. I’m not attacking the OP, I merely made a reference. I get that English is not your strong point, but you need to ease up on the judgements.
No that’s not what I wrote, that’s your emotive comprehension failure interpreting it. I merely said why would anyone want to play with those types of troops. There is a difference, but ok maybe too subtle.
