Planes hardcounter AA guns

Okay true, vehicles indeed seem much easier to spot, but for me it still happens quite often.

To be fair, when I fly (don’t do it often, never liked the warthunder controls) I look at the battlefield and check the map like 2000 meters before going in for a dive, I am experienced enough to know where all the spawns are located, so I already know where to spam the spawn button at, basically every AA gunner will build their AA guns between their main spawn and the objective.

If there is either a vehicle, or a AA gun I will spot them 90% of the time.

That being said, AA guns need their range drastically increased, if you shoot to early you die at an instant, because rockets have enough range and AOE to instant wipe any target.

I remember CBT times, planes were actually very vulnerable but increadibly powerful, this was the perfect way planes were balanced- pilots were forced to fly low and plan their attacks, if they straight up appear from a very obvious high altitude, even regular lmgs would wreck them.

Ever since the massive plane nerfs planes have also become near immortal enemies that don’t actually do all that much.

Yes they wipe every vehicle without any effort, but take extremely long to rearm, making them just a troll vehicle, you ruin somebodies day without him being able to defend himself- but then you are basically AFK for the rest of the time.

Thats why I keep saying ignoring planes is the best strategy you can have.

Pilots waste the time of their own team because a infantry squad will always be more effective, while fighting said plane is the worst thing you can do.

Pilots play their own little game, which is a shame considering that we have got bombig runs and paradrops, which could have added a big incentive to play as a pilot. But it is what it is I guess.

Too vunerable. Even a burst from SMG could destroy them.

Got the same experience, tbh I dont recall ever getting spot on AA regardless have it shot at me or not aka knowing it place.
But IDK does it require pixel snipe direct hit with spotting button or cant it be spotted at all ?

And as sidenote, currently in pacific my AA guns turns only 180degree.
No idea is this sht intentional, bug or some other cool new feature no one asked for on my end.

I remember seeing a biplane fly by at the end of the match and like 3 dudes on our team opened fire with bolt actions, and we took it down because it was very slow moving.

This was indeed comically when a single Kar98 shot would break the wings of a IL2 - which was considered well armored.

Well I am not for the return of them nuke bombing runs, or for planes having pretty much zero survivability, but I think small arms should still deal damage, while a good burst of any lmg should cause serious problems, right now only AA guns even deal damage to begin with.

you need to camp enemy air spawn and always be ready to intercept those planes whenever they spawn. if you cant you just have skill issues :rofl:

also by his words, suicide spamming requires “skill” and not just any monkey(probably his exact words) can use it.

…The CAS cycler deserted the match after being shot down 5 times in quick succession. pretty common after the 4th death in alot of matchs

no rocket spammers that game, or the other few I played this morning

In that case the kamikaze spam is totally fine.
Not at all broken feature.

So solution to a toxic issue is another toxic method…

Last game.
This is not name and shame, since apparently this kamikaze sht is entirely legit tactic.
Totally not broken feature of the game.

Literally, sat entire game in AA gun and regardless I got the kill with totally OP AA gun most of time they still got to shoot theyr HVARS to cap point and empty it.
And even If wouldnt have got the kill they would have just suicided anyway, which happened couple times.
Aka it was entirely pointless to even sit in AA.

All this while I had 4? Guys stack doing the heavylifting on cap points.

Looks like AA works easily.

Again, main issue here is unlimited tickets. The guy died 28 times. Thats over a 3rd of your teams tickets for “ONE” guy

Fix unlimited tickets and behaviour like that will break a team

In what sense ? Yes, I got the kill which didnt help my team the slightest as the super skilled player in question got to shoot hes HVARS anyway and even if I didnt hit him he just crashed anyway since its faster than flying to resupply.

Okay, sure and then what ? The same super skilled tactic continues but this time the defending team might or might not lose the game due to 1 skillcannon9000 doing the kamikaze sht ?

Honestly…what do you think AA guns should be like? Instant complete zone denial?

That “would” be unbalanced.

They are already easy to score kills with…You shot him down near everytime…so what he got a few kills, he “traded very poorly”, while you traded really well and got a massive score for it. Says to me that AA was working well.

Honestly, at this point im willing to add patriot AA missiles to the game, this sht is beyond broken that it literally ruins the game.

Id guess ~5-10 of those kills were just me doing the last damage before he crashed.
Each time, regardless did I get the plane in flames in mid-air or not he got to shoot hes HVARS.
Aka HVARS has by far longer range than the AA gun.

Aka proving rather well how inadequate the AA gun is at BR5.

Ok…so you think you should have 21 planes kills and he should have nothing because you sat in AA all game.

AA player 5 deaths, plane player 28 deaths…looks effective to me

If you build an AT gun or use AT launchers, are you guaranteed to stop a tank from shooting a heap of people first?

Better way is to change the mechanics to stop accomodating suicide cycling…it happens because of instant airspawn

Preferably yes, because in this exact scenario after this skill cannon 9000 figured that its pointless to even try to kill me in AA gun as he gets to shoot hes HVARS regardless do I hit him or not.

Except it had 0 impact to the outcome of the game.

No ? But I can quite confidentally say that tank wont be shooting from the air to cap point ~10seconds after he got killed.
Also, I do quite often 1hit kill tanks.
In this exact case of AA I could not prevent this super skilled invidual a single time to spam hes HVARs to cap.

If we’re speaking of limiting vehicle spots. Sure.
Or moving the spawn so far away that it takes least 1min to get to cap point, preferably more.
Ive got no sympathy for these skilled inviduals so for all I care it could be an hour long flight from spawn to combat area.

Thats nothing to do with aa or planes or anything. Just unlimited tickets. You could HE spam, snipe, machine gun. “Fly a plane” or anything and also have zero impact if you dont cap, because defenders can throw bodies.

Says it all really.

The relationship between planes and AA is fine, the mechanics that reward and allow suicide cycling and throwing bodies isnt

If we use your tank example, more than often I can kill the tank with well placed shot before he gets to shoot a single time.
With AA I could not do that a single time in previous game.

Sure, il grant that its yet again one another broken feature of the game.
But then again even if defenders had tickets it would not stop a single skilled invidual of doing this kamikaze cycle.
Sure, the defenders could lose due to this 1 skilled invidual, but so what ?
