This is my idea:
If the guy who dies has a same gun/ caliper as you do, wouldn’t it make sense to have “Collect ammo” as alternative?
It is kind of annoying to see that someone with for example Carcano rifle passes away in front of you and you are out of ammo and cant pick it up automatically?

you already can? you just need to pick up the gun.

So if youre a class that has no secondary slot (engineer) you might be left with a worse gun
Exactly.
Also, picking up another gun just because of the ammo does not make sense? Not to mention the fact that the ammo that you can carry from the gun that you picked up is more limited than with your original rifle. I understand it with the completely different caliber/ class but not with the exact same caliber?
Ok but in that case you pick only 1 mag bc the other is still in the gun, (and for balance reason dropped gun give you max 2 mag)
You want the picked up clips to transform themselves into the ones you need for your weapon? I dont like this idea.
