u could equip paratroopers with anything though, pilots use plenty guns, even full auto. paratroopers can do the same, a gun can’t weigh you down that much unless your carrying a lewis or something
Here’s what they do they make it so these paratroopers don’t come with the box because they’re customizable and that way premium ones will still be special, you will have 3 paratroopers, and then the other 3 soldiers can have their class changed in the Skill tree

1 Engineer or 1 Radio Op
1 Sniper or 1 Mortar man (so this class can show up more)

Paratrooper are already inaccurate because irl, German paratroopers didn’t have their main gun with them and they would never free fall, Germans FG-42 would be stored in a Container and the paratrooper would land with nothing but a pistol, and they would have to open the container and get their gun, irl

The FG-42 is a big gun and they would have ammo and other supplies on their sides, American and British troops could drop with their guns because the Thompson and Sten were small guns

German Paratroopers would roll when they land so having the gun their would get in their way
on a strap so it could stay without you holding it
Paratroopers could not drop with heavy weaponry, that’s why such crates as seen in games were also dropped with them (early war German paratroopers even dropped with only pistols, with weapons dropped seperately).
It’s a nice realistic real world aspect that also provides a tacticly interesting dilema for player by not dropping fully battle ready (lacking specialists), they need to regroup at the supply box or go in with what they have from the drop. Such a mechanic should not be lost to only the current Event and Premium squads, otherwise they’re just normal squads that can be airlifted, no downsides (and in arguably objectively better, having a versitile squad that needs no prep time).

Players requested paratroopers in TechTree multiple times. Hope Darkflow / Gaijin will respond and accept their fate to add them in general.
However paratroopers should face the same systems like tanks / plane (limited to a specific number at the same time - maybe not more then 4 paratrooper squads on the same time)

Would stop us from reenacting the Battle of Arnhem, but yeah it’s probably for the best. 
I hope they also add more options to custom games, so we can turn off these limmits, tanks, planes, future paratroopers all. Let the chaos commence.

So Germany’s free paratroopers will spawn only with pistols and when they land they’ll do a roll (like irl) and all of the squad equipment will be stored in a crate so it’s more realistic. So you get to still fully customize them.
Sounds interesting, but would mostly be a Germany only nerf to paratroopers, when everyone else could drop with rifles, Germany would be limmited to pistols and SMGs (until BR 5 when they could use FG 42s). I’m fine with everyone behaving like the Brits and Americans, standard weaponry on the drop but heavy stuff must be gathered from the boxes.
