They weren’t.
Para planes are accompanied by flak explosions AND the sounds of them. Always were.
Paratroopers were already easy to shoot before any nerf. But then:

They’re now just a gimmick, not very effective, just like bomber formations.
This is quite probably just a bug affecting only German (/Italian) paratroopers.

The only real problem associated with the paratroopers was that they weren’t (and still aren’t) in the tech tree, that’s all.
With how random the box is for the Italian paratroopers it’s honestly devastating to them because that’s the only reliable place they can actually get decent weapons
Dont really think I ever said I was afraid of them, they were just broken and generally not balanced nor fun to play in any manner.
I understand ppl get mildly butthurt when theyr crutches gets taken away but how the paras used to work theres no argument that they were broken as fk.

It’s really funny when ppl are trying to come up with similar “arguments”.
The nerfs devs implemented are braindumb. They could just take away the crate away from them, the class would be still usable but no longer so versatile. Plus add icons over their plans.
But the changes they come with are just lazy parametric changes that result in you being the sole survivor because your AIs dies before they can even land (if you’re fighting enemies that are somewhat good).
Not even counting the longer flight and so. In which you can’t literally do a shtt and it’s just boring.
They’re becoming just boring gimmick.

I never had issues meeting paratroopers. Ever.
Even when they fell fast, I managed to gun 2-3 with automatics (or even snipers!) Like ducks. If I was close enough (if the para player was DUMB enough to drop on my cap) I mowed down his entire squad before he had chances to even reach his crate (that dropped with him).
Situational awareness. My reflexes may not be the best. But I always know and read the battlefield around me.

You cant spawn literally nowhere where is an enemy. And you have no way how to influence the outcome.
Meaning, theres no point in having drop ability in the first place XD

Far as I know they have always been useless.
They are somewhat fine now, high risk high reward also useful for building radios to places that would be hard to reach otherwise.

Honestly, when people want to play as paratroopers they should absolutely be able to do so without limitations - what makes paras broken is not that they can be “spammed”, rather the fact that they break the game design of spawning wherever the heck they want.
New objective? Spawn right into it combat ready before the defenders even get the chance of defending.
Unreachable tank? Just literally spawn ontop of it.
Frontline too strong? Literally spawn ontop of enemy rallies and mine them.
Paratroopers should be flankers, but simply being allowed to do these things without any drawbacks makes them OP - heck, they are technically even stronger than Assaulter squads because they get extra HP - not alot more, but enough to turn a “one hit kill” into a “two hit kill” for some weapons.
Paras don’t need to be restricted, they need an overhaul.
Italian paratroopers not too threatening if they missed their box and if we care about extra hits what does that mean about Soviet Body armor with 10% damage reduction that you can practically equip to almost everyone in the Soviet army.
Lololol, PARA’s are OP? You clearly havent tried jumping in and being shot down, or getting mag dumped by the guy who ran straight for you as you helplessly descend, Or when a really good tanker just machine guns your squad right out of their chutes from across the map. Dont even get me started on Para hunters whos sole mission in life is to hunt every single para down, just like Konigstiger hunters. Ive learned to always drop a couple AP mines wherever my DZ is, just for those players. How are you the only one not looking up? Situational awareness is a very powerful tool in enlisted.
