A couple small points about the Pacific ambiance:
-
Maybe this is just the graphical setting I’m using, but the mountains in the background - which should be a lush jungle green - instead look brown, despite being covered in trees. Clearly, this is because rendering ground vegetation (which should cover the dirt floor) for the entire mountain range would be too resource-intensive, but maybe there are other solutions (such as using a different ground texture or a simpler ground vegetation shader? I think it would really make a difference in terms of the appearance and immersion, making it look less like a video game map of a jungle and more like an actual jungle.

Speaking of the jungle - there are parts of the maps (such as the Japanese starting point on the Guadalcanal Coast map) that feature really well-rendered jungle. How come none of the fighting takes place there? Seems an odd choice to create a pacific island campaign where all of the fighting takes place in villages, on rocky beach, or on open ground. Could some of the objectives be repositioned to accommodate jungle combat?

We need flammable vegetation.
