I can tell . . . I only joined post merge (around this time last year), so I never got the chance to unlock legacy squads. So, here is the grand total of two Italian squads I have unlocked.
Don’t mind the BR I on some of the squads, I had to rearrange some of them around because one of my friends decided to start grinding BR I Germany. I normally play around BR II and III. Sadly, I didn’t get the Solothurn (which was actually used by the Italians), so I had to settle for the GrB-39. . .
Ah well. IM glad at least you still get the opportunity for a few Italian squads…Hopefully one day we will get The option to change nationality cosmetics (like we can voices)…and on more fronts

The thing that pains me the most is the assault squad and tank squads. Even the radio operator squad (even though I don’t really use them). They just look so drippy, and I’m seriously after an Italian assault squad so I can use the 40 round Beretta M38 and the ZH-29 (since they captured a few).
Yes, I can use them on the standard German Assault squads, but it just doesn’t feel the same.
