Other Stalingrad maps

Im sure this is already a consideration, but could we have other iconic Stalingrad locations, like the grain elevator, Red October factory, Pavlov’s house, and many others ?

check berlin for reference

I hope new maps come before the next big update. Can’t wait for 2 months.

Stalingrad definitely needs winter maps. Snow storm with building fires and spotlights helping to light the more dimly lit areas :slight_smile:

Bridges of Druzhina… That map is difficult to win as Red Army but one of the most satisfying experiences to actually win on that map. I have learned alot of things there including the use of far flanks alongside artillery spots and others. Sure that map has no solid historical proof that its part of Stalingrad campaign alongside Winterwald but I would love to see Myshkova River(this one based on Operation Winter Storm).

The lack of winter maps on the Stalingrad campaign right now makes it feel like just another Berlin except it’s early war and it takes place in Stalingrad with different architecture and stuff.

The lack of winter maps in Stalingrad bothered me so much considering Red Orchestra 2 have both summer and winter maps.

Missing winter maps in Stalingrad are much worse than missing the Reichstag in Berlin like we could’ve seen more heavy snow maps like Fortified District from Moscow plus an urban setting in Stalingrad whether on the city center itself, Mamayev Kurgan or the Factory District. Even events of Operation Winter Storm with the defense of the Myshkova River from Manstein’s panzer divisions would be a great addition to the campaign.

So far we only have the central city district partially recreated at early stages of the invasion (Summer-fall 1942 as evident by leaves on the trees). I wouldn’t be surprised if with next updates we see the winter stage with other iconic loactions (incl. Tractor factory, Grain Elevator etc not shown here):

1 - Railway Station;
2 - Gorky Theater;
3 - Square of the Fallen Fighters;
4 - Univermag;
5 - Central crossing No. 2;
6 - Tsaritsa crossing;
7 - Specialist Houses, to the south - Central crossing No. 1;
8 - State Bank;
9 - Brewery;
10 - NKVD buildings;
11 - Grudinin’s mill;
12 - January 9th Square, Zabolotny House, Pavlov’s House;
13 - House of Railwaymen, L-shaped house;
14 - ‘Milky’ House;
15 - Voentorg;
16 - Rodimtsev’s Wall.

Realizing the fact that we only have one part of the city of Stalingrad for the entire campaign, well this doesn’t look good unless we will have an expansion of the campaign itself with more districts and the winter part of the campaign.

Atleast Berlin campaign have like 4 areas with Northwest of the Moltke Bridge with Lehrter Bahnhof, Koenigsplatz(from Kroll Opera House to the Reichstag), Reich Chancellery(from Hermann Goering Strasse with the Brandenburg Gate to Wilhelmstrasse) and the most recent being Seelow Heights. I wish Stalingrad campaign cover more areas like RO2 did.

To be fair Berlin also launched with a couple of city areas, Lehrter Bahnhof was added later, Seelow heights too.
The initial set of maps could be seen in this aerial photograph

I would be surprused if we don’t see the January 9th Square as well as Tractor Factory/Grain Elevator/Volga Crossing, and in winter scenery too.
