Operation "Earth Shield"

The war in Europe was nearing its end. Berlin was surrounded by the Allies and the German command had less and less faith in the strength of its own forces.

Only a miracle could have changed the situation - and it seemed to have happened! German scientists managed to find ancient artifacts that open portals to other, “dark” worlds.

However, the creatures that emerged from the portals proved to be difficult to control - but, on the other hand, they could easily manipulate the will and minds of humans, “motivating” them to fight against their own kind on the side of the monsters!

The first attempt to summon otherworldly entities triggered a chain reaction - portals began to open all over the world. So the former adversaries had to put aside their differences and join forces in a new war against another world.

Humanity is in danger!

Help the united forces of Earth to achieve victory!

From October 28th (11:00 UTC) to November 27th (13:00 UTC), participate in the “Operation: Earth Shield” event and fight against evil! By completing tasks in the special “Halloween 2024” Battle Pass, you’ll receive rewards that can be used both in the event and in the main game - portraits, event characters with squads and unique themed weapons.

On certain levels, you’ll receive consumable syringes that allow you to get back on your feet without the help of your teammates after getting downed in the event mode.

There are 3 tasks available every day in the Halloween Pass. By purchasing the Elite Halloween Pass, various additional rewards will open up for you to unlock.

You can also purchase thematic weaponry for Gold, an M4A2 (76) “Daemon” tank for the USA and four RD-44 (B) machine guns for the USSR. Purchasing the weapons also unlocks them in the event!

Know your enemy!

It is not entirely clear what attracts these demonic entities, but the portals open mainly at the sites of the bloodiest battles in Normandy, Tunisia, Berlin, Rzhev and the Solomon Islands.

One of the first new enemy types is a red, common demon. If you want to immediately shoot the demon in the face when you confront it, that’s fine. But be careful, because it can shoot back, throwing a weightless blob of otherworldly energy at you!

Purple demons are rarer and much stronger. They can form more powerful blobs of energy for their attacks, which then gradually fall to the ground. If you see one, seek cover or step back. After a few seconds their blob will explode like a grenade!

…alongside countless “motivated”!

Ready your weapons!

Guns play a significant role in the success of your mission - demons and their minions, as it turns out, are quite vulnerable to earthly weapons. Fortunately, there’s plenty of equipment left behind on the battlefields after the war of bygone days.

You’ll find scattered weapon crates throughout the event - their beacons emit a distinctive beep, so you’re unlikely to miss them. For completing 1 and 3 objectives in the mission, each player will receive a personal "reward crate, which can only be opened by the player whose nickname is written above it.

Initially you’ll only get basic shotguns and submachine guns from the weapon and “reward” crates. But as you progress your Halloween Pass, you’ll unlock better weapons - like the FG 42 II, Type 100 MG, M1928A1 Thompson 50 and a few others.

Once you have unlocked weapons from either the Halloween Pass or the Shop, they will have a 50% chance of appearing in the crates. The “reward” crate you receive for completing the third objective in the mission is guaranteed to contain one of these weapons.

In addition to weapons, when opening a crate, you can also receive Halloween Tokens, which can be used to unlock Battle Pass levels without any daily limits. Their frequency in crates depends on the mission difficulty.

Halloween Tokens are shared across the players. So it doesn’t matter who carries them - the main goal is to bring them to the evacuation point. Each player will receive as many tokens as their group managed to extract. The Elite Halloween Pass doubles the number of Halloween Tokens received at the end of the battle.

Note: if your teammate has progressed further in demon killing than you and tries to share a weapon with you that you haven’t unlocked yet, you won’t be able to pick it up!

Also, in a war with another world, there is no room for desertion. Leaving the Halloween event mission early will incur a five minute penalty for queuing!

The world is on fire

Before you is one of the locations devastated by demons, where you’ll have to repel the attack of otherworldly forces. In addition to endless hordes of enemies and supplies scattered here and there to help you survive, you’ll have to complete a series of objectives marked on the map throughout the mission.

Crate icon - this symbol indicates a supply crate with a random weapon, which you’ll receive at the start of the game and for completing objectives. Only the player whose nickname is written above it can open the crate.

Explosion icon - this marks the portals to another world, from where demons will appear right before your eyes. Fortunately, one well-placed grenade is enough to destroy these otherworldly contraptions.

Radio icon - command urgently needs to receive intelligence from this area. It’s already been gathered for you. All that’s left is to transmit it. But be warned - the radio signal attracts attention!

Crossed swords icon - one of the final stages of clearing the area from otherworldly forces. There’s an altar at the marked location: touching it will summon a horde of enemies that must be defeated at all costs. Demons are insidious, so be prepared for surprises!

Vehicle icon - your ticket back to base. An allied armored vehicle will be waiting for you at this point to evacuate you once you have completed all the objectives. But don’t relax just yet - it might not be safe at the extraction point.

Dream team

Specialists from all over the world joined the fight against evil. Each of them has their own “trump cards”. You can unlock them via the Halloween Pass.

Waverly Woodson (Medic, USA)

Doctors are meant to save lives - so to save millions of lives around the world, this American combat medic has selflessly joined the battle against the demons. This character can place additional medkit boxes, plus heal and revive his allies faster. He can also carry up to 3 medkits, which allows him to stay alive longer.

Reinhard Rust (Engineer, Germany)

This battle-hardened German engineer couldn’t stand idly by when the world needed him. He is, after all, a master of firearms and a true athlete. He can both run fast and reload quickly. With his trusty construction hammer, he can not only supply his team with ammunition, but he can also set up a stationary machine gun!

Emelyan Barykin (Assaulter, USSR)

When the enemy threatened his homeland, he took up arms. So when a new enemy invaded his world, he was already prepared. This bearded hero is the only character who can use two main weapons in battle. His exceptional strength allows him to better control the recoil of any weapon and shoot the heads of his enemies more accurately!

Katsu Kato (AT Gunner, Japan)

Generations will tell legends about the fearless descendant of the samurai who went to face the demons in his ancestral armor. This Japanese warrior is noticeably more resilient than other characters, and thanks to his katana skills, he can deal more damage in close combat. From his homeland, he also brought a Type 4 rocket launcher loaded with special projectiles to effectively destroy crowds of monsters!

If you don’t have any of the event characters unlocked, you can take on evil with the help of an ordinary soldier.

Please note: The special abilities of these characters only work in the Halloween event missions!

The fate of humanity is in your hands, commanders! Join the fight and bring your friends with you!

So I guess we enter the territory of stupid skins for good.
Gold skin AS-44 and obrez MG42 in next events?

At this rate enlisted will be as historical as CoD Vanguard within 5 years.

I think they want to kill @Veekay45 .

To make those weird skin weapons and tanks permanent stuff in the regular game…

It’s too much, even for me. Oh well

Regular progression for such a game I suppose.

It is more Warhammer vibe, chaos invasion ecc…

Apparently ww2 game about ww2 is too boring for some.

Is it main game entlisted? Is it an event? Is it permanent or comming back egain at least?

When an event has more content than all the updates this year.

We will surely use this in mods. Oh yes.

Not when you first advertise the game as historical…
Sure, it was long time ago. But it’s kind of a middle finger for old players to do such 180 turn.
It’s not the game that was advertised to me 3y ago.

Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE weird, bizzare events. Brings flavour to the game.

But if those become permanent and undistinguishable from the base game, it becomes a jumbled mess.

Hey devs, please make those permanent too:

Might as well embrace the foolishness head on!

Isn’t an event… Isn’t replacing the main game and it will be Gone in a month

Skins stay. And there are quite a few of them.
Maybe if they change them to be less “zombie” but then whats the point in the first place?

They’re permanent.

Wait, that was too over to me.
I hope this news is just some kind of Halloween scare.
