Nothing would attract people as having couple of cursed guns into the game. So i was thinking adding short barreled versions of rifles and put them into a handgun category would be cool playstyle. Having a fireball effect coming from the muzzle and one shot kill up to 30 meters perhaps

There is some historical authenticity to it, it was used by Russians in the interwar era as well as WW2
Also by partisans in eastern block countries
Pistols weren’t as easily available so the best thing you could do if you had tons of mosins laying around is to cut one off and have it serve as a pistol
It seems to me that they would rather make a premium squad of soviet militia, where such a sawn-off could be an additional weapon.
