Normandy invasion is no longer playable

Congratulations. My div mate and I still aren’t obligated to deal with the enemy team gaining 1000 more tickets at practically the beginning of the game and can choose to just desert to save ourselves from the tedium. Is it winnable? Yes. But if the enemy team is any good whatsoever, then it’s a slogfest. It invalidates everything that happened earlier in the game. Fight the allies to a standstill and are holding them at a point? I guess they can just pop the balloons with AA guns and infantry fire with impunity and gain all of their tickets back and then some. All of those kills you got? They mean nothing because they can all just come back like nothing happened.

Maybe that works against a team of players who are bad at the game. But if there are even 2-3 serious people on that team who aren’t terrible, your chances of winning go drastically down after they pop those balloons.

It doesn’t matter if it’s “whining” - if people are deserting from the game and don’t want to play airfield, then yes that is the developer’s fault. If it was all sunshine and rainbows then people wouldn’t leave. It isn’t just people being “cowards” it’s people’s aversion to - whether you agree with it or not - what they feel is bullshit. Having those tickets just appear just feels like the allies are getting a victory they didn’t earn and that’s infuriating. Especially if the enemy team is terrible (throw in a tank cycler for more fun) but they slowly wear you down due to tickets and throwing themselves at you like a human wave. Eventually one of them gets through and caps no matter how good you are, especially since the cap progress does not go down over time.

Maybe the developers should balance the map with map design or secondary objectives that the defending team can actually defend rather than undefendable objectives like the current barrage balloons. That doesn’t mean I don’t want a difficult game. But there is a difference between a difficult game to win, which can be fun, and pure tedium. The longer a game is dragged out, the more you’ll need the rest of your team to carry the weight… and we all know how few German players there are that can actually carry.

But sure we are all cowards. That must be all it boils down to, clearly.

Exactly the same argument applies to the allied side - about a couple of good players on the axis side shortening the odds.

As always, player choices matter vastly more than weapons or, in this case, tickets.

It’s probably because most of the experienced German players are off playing either Berlin or Moscow.

For example in my case - Germany in Normandy was the first nation I maxed a few months ago but I play allies in both Moscow and Berlin where I’m max lvl also.

The reason - Normandy has the worst problem with CAS. The experience for pure infantry play is really bad in comparison to other campaigns.

However- I think Normandy is the best for farming bronze orders. If you know what your doing and use tanks planes and squads effectively.

Also yes Normandy is poorly balanced in a lot of ways but if you come up against good players they will make it very difficult to win.

now the fg42


its at 40 vertical and 10 horizontal

now the mg 42


it has 15 vertical 16 horizontal

this means the m2 has more recoil than a fg 42lmg and the mg 42 which is wrong even with a head shot the m2 doesn’t do shit for damage but in a Germans main eyes this is fair

and for top teir smgs
Barretta vertical 19 horizontal 7

Thompson has 30 vertical and 8 horizontal

so again the Thompson has recoil of a lmg

better guns don’t mean crap, its the map design, tank/anti-tank imbalance that makes the game not even competitive. Go and play as a german in Normandy for a few rounds, and you’ll realize what you’re up against. This is coming from a lvl 29 German, and most people are lvl 15, imagine that.

i have u have the better positions better weapons fg 42 mg 34 mg 42 mp 40 and yes the weapons mean everything u will eventually have better tanks when tiger comes you even get a full atuo sniper if u want and the progression system is coming so you will be switching over fg42 and mg42 to fight the level 1s the Germans are the most overpowered team by far
but god forbid the Americans have good top tier stuff like the Germans and Russians that’s useable the ppsh 41 has 15 vertical and 6 horizontal but the Thompson has 30 vertical and 8 horizontal

the smgs early on for normandy is pretty balanced since grease guns have better controllability and better damage but slightly less ammo and worse ROF

yes but seem like there punishing you for using later stage while the Russians have ppd with very little recoil Germans get Beretta very little recoil but we get slow starter gear.
what needs to happen is add the bar without bi pod for every trooper. and take off the hand cuffs you get fg 42 we get bar thats fair

i don’t think giving the americans BAR would be the proper solution, instead i would do is put the fg and maybe the AVS into gunner class and m2 carbine to the assaulter slot

no avs and m2 is fine the fg42 needs to move to assaulter and put some thing in its place

i’m just saying that to keep both sides at peace and the m2 really does need to go in the assaulter squads since it’s just a glorified smg anyways

the bar isn’t an lmg either but it was put in the role anyways why does it need to go u act like its some powerful weapon i use it and its not that good at all

you cant keep both sides happy if there’s any thing to cry about they will do it if they gave the bar to the Americans it would balance out 20 rnd clip to 20 clip only thing that would matter was rate of fire it would be better than the one sided way that we have now

i just don’t want automatics to be multiclass lol
